Pros

  • 10+ years in business
  • High-quality working parts
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer a warranty

Whether you’re dealing with an overheated engine or a leaky radiator, we think you’re fairly likely to find the parts you need at 1-800 Radiator & A/C-Dallas. They’ve been in business since 2006 and have a reputation for providing people with top-quality automotive parts at a fraction of the usual cost.

Car parts are undeniably expensive, and if you’re not careful about where you get your parts, you might end up ruining your finances. So, if you’re on a budget but want to get the most bang for your buck, this company might be the first one to check out.

They’re conveniently located within the Dallas-Fortworth metroplex and are accessible to both drivers and commuters. You can park your car outside the establishment while you peruse their endless aisles of car and AC parts.

We have to say that we appreciate how interactive the staff is here at 1-800 Radiator & A/C-Dallas. They ask you questions to figure out how to better assist you with your needs.

They give surprisingly great insight and recommendations, from what we’ve seen.

Occasionally, the even owner pipes in to help clients find what they’re looking for. He’s an equally approachable guy with a mild manner and years of experience under his belt.

While the state and quality of their products are indeed impressive, we’re a little disappointed that they don’t offer any type of warranty for customers.

Fortunately, your newly purchased rebuilt or refurbished engine might still be covered by your car’s manufacturer’s warranty or extended warranty policy. You can ask your warranty provider for confirmation.

Pros

  • 5+ years in business
  • Budget-friendly
  • Quick and responsive services

Cons

  • A little out of the way from the city center

If you’re looking for fair pricing and reliable products, it’s pretty hard to go wrong with Vasquez Auto Parts. They’ve been in business for more than five years, which we take as a sign of reliability.

They offer high-quality salvaged auto parts at incredibly low prices. Plus, they have a team of knowledgeable and attentive employees.

They’ll assist you with everything you need, from finding the right salvage car to digging up an old engine. You can also ask them questions related to their services and stock.

We had an interesting time walking through their salvage yard, which looked like a maze brought forth from a movie or a comic. You’ll see tires neatly piled up on one side and exhaust pipes and radiators on another.

It’s a huge space with trees and grassy areas – it’s also accessible to those living within Dallas and the surrounding districts. Unless you’re coming from the North; it might take you a little longer to arrive at the salvage yard.

For those who plan to pay this little salvage yard a visit, make sure to plot out your route before the journey. It’ll save you time navigating the roads and give you more time to explore Vasquez Auto Parts more deeply.

Pros

  • 30+ years in business
  • 30-day warranty on parts
  • Fully computerized inventory

Cons

  • Poor customer service

All Discount Auto Salvage has the largest inventory we’ve ever seen. Whether you’re looking for engines, transmissions, radios, or compressors – without a doubt – this is a salvage yard to visit.

They’re the first company we found that offered a 30-day warranty on parts. Warranties are important because they protect you from buying faulty auto parts that would cost you more money in the end, so we’re big on them.

We found it very easy to access their company inventory too. Everything is carefully laid out in their website and is regularly updated by their staff.

So, you don’t even have to make the trip to their physical location unless it’s to inspect and pick up the part you want. We really liked that convenience.

You’ll see aisles and aisles of car parts inside their large hub, which is conveniently located within the metroplex. There’s parking outside and a huge yard full of junk cars just waiting for you to dig in.

Still, although they’ve been in business for over 30 years, we find their customer service quality lacking compared to everyone else’s. Here’s why:

It took them nearly two days to get back to us on our email. And it didn’t help that when we called, the person on the other line sounded a little irritated that we were asking them questions about their establishment.

If All Discount Auto Salvage would improve their customer service quality, they’d have higher customer satisfaction ratings and fewer complaints.

Pros

  • 90-day warranty on parts
  • 20+ years in business
  • Fully computerized inventory

Cons

  • Expensive

Bill Jones Auto Parts & Perez Used Cars, Inc. is a great place to get used cars and salvaged parts. They’ve been in business for over 20 years and are popular for their great products that come with a lengthy 90-day warranty.

If something you bought from them within that time period stops working, you’re entitled to a refund or replacement – depending on what you and the owner agree on.

Salvage yards aren’t always known for their customer service. In our experience, almost everyone encounters a horrible salvage yard employee that’s rude or condescending.

What we like about Bill Jones Auto Parts & Perez Used Cars, Inc. is that all of their employees are approachable and informative.

They don’t think twice about answering questions about their services and products. Furthermore, we appreciate how they help you dig up parts that you’re looking for during your visit.

Their company inventory is available digitally. However, you’ll have to request access to the company before you can see what they have in store.

While our experience with Bill Jones Auto Parts was truly incredible and their products top-notch, we must say that they’re far more expensive than most salvage yards we have on this list. If you’re on a tight budget, you may want to consider a different company.

Pros

  • Multiple product warranties
  • 30+ years of experience
  • Fast inventory turnaround
  • Budget-friendly

Cons

  • No online inventory
  • Poor customer service

Bolt on Motors has been in business since 1989. They carry both domestic and imported motors for cars built from 1994 to 2014, making them the go-to for anyone looking for parts for an older model car.

Customers continuously praise the company for their product quality and variety. Everything you need, from rebuilt to used engines, are available for viewing and testing at the store.

We appreciate the varying warranty levels they have for their products. You can get a 90-day warranty for engines and transmissions, one-year warranty for rebuilt engines, and 30-day warranty for other small parts.

These warranties entitle you to replacements and refunds – depending on the type of warranty you get. So, if you receive a faulty car part, make sure to call Bolt on Motors immediately after you discover the issue.

The company has a fast inventory turnaround, which we found reassuring. It means that the parts they have don’t sit around in storage for too long.

If a car part is left untouched for too long, it can start to develop small flaws that will affect its performance.

Bolt on Motors would’ve totally been the perfect salvage yard out of everyone we’ve visited. Alas, they do have one fatal flaw that we should point out:

Their customer service is not exactly the best. Not only do their employees have a tendency of calling people names in their feedback forum but they also put you on hold for long periods while you’re on the phone with them.

A piece of advice for the management? You should train your employees to treat your clients better to avoid unsatisfactory ratings and loss of sales.
