Pros
- Gym is filled with modern equipment that’s well-maintained

- Able to provide personalized approaches for each client’s fitness needs
- Offers a free 7-day trial for first-timers
Cons
- Management has occasionally been confusing and non-transparent regarding fees
Trophy Fitness in Uptown Dallas has a stellar combo of workout routines and an atmosphere that can easily get your blood pumping when you step in.
It’s been known to be filled with modern equipment that all seems pretty well-maintained, which should be the case for all fitness facilities.
Not to mention, its facilities are generally spacious and have their own dedicated rooms for lifting and functional fitness.
More importantly, its personal trainers are highly skilled in a number of training programs that cater to each client’s needs. Notable trainers such as Andy and Gina are well-certified in the proper usage and function of such programs.
Not only do they customize these programs according to your fitness goals, but they also include nutritional plans to complement your workout.
It’s considerably a common saying in the fitness industry that abs are made in the kitchen. In Trophy Fitness’s case, this is definitely applicable as its trainers make sure that you know how and what to eat to complement your sessions with them.
So whether you want to level up your cardio or build lean muscle while shedding fat, then we think you’ll be in very capable hands.
If you’re first starting out, you’ll be happy to hear that Trophy Fitness actually offers a free 7-day trial. We think this is an absolute steal in kickstarting your journey towards being personally trained in fitness.
Now for the caveat to its services. Its management can occasionally be confusing and non-transparent when it’s actually time to start paying.
Keep this in mind when you’re first starting out, and make sure to clarify its fees beforehand.
2. NexGen Fitness Personal Training (Preston Hollow)

Pros
- Has various unique training options that also focus on athletic performance
- Utilizes innovative fitness applications that efficiently track your performance
- Also provides fun and engaging youth and teen training programs
- Trainers are highly attentive to what works the best for each client’s goals
Cons
- Has a reputation for asking for 5-star reviews in exchange for free training sessions
- Frequently changes its team of trainers
When you’re looking for experts who design personalized training programs for your fitness goals, then NexGen Fitness is a viable option for just that.
With its variety of unique training options, anybody, regardless of their fitness background, should be able to enjoy the benefits of working with its personal trainers.
The personal trainers themselves can vary in their approaches depending on your goal, so make sure to pick the right one that’s just for you.
For instance, Matt Tucker has a background in football and weight training. He’s also a pretty upbeat kind of trainer that balances strength and muscle aesthetics.
For Pierre Jacobs, having backgrounds in both exercise science and sports management allows him to have a relatable style of training clients and even athletes.
Regardless of what your goals may be, you can expect NexGen’s trainers to be highly attentive to what works the best for you.
What we also like about training with them is that they utilize innovative fitness applications that efficiently track your performance. It’s certainly a great way to translate your performance into something that’s actually tangible and measurable.
Another added bonus is that NexGen also caters to youth and teens, which is actually a pretty good fitness service that’s seemingly overlooked often. It’s a simple but effective way to start them young, as they say.
We do notice, however, that NextGen frequently changes its team of trainers. From what we’ve heard also, the owner seems to have a reputation for asking for 5-star reviews in exchange for free training sessions.
While giving away free training sessions is cool and all, this is a very questionable way of doing it and could lead to potential clients developing mistrust and finding someplace else.

Pros
- Trainers have experience professionally training military personnel
- Very efficient and attentive in correcting client’s form to avoid any injuries
- Great at maintaining client’s motivation and self-discipline
- Teaches unique and interesting exercises tailored for each client’s goal
Cons
- Occasionally had issues with giving timely updates in the past
If you need the drive and motivation to pursue results outside your comfort zone, then definitely let Tough Fitness Dallas be your personal trainer.
Its trainers have been military personnel themselves, so we think you’ll be in for training that definitely makes you reevaluate what your actual limit is (safely, of course).
Things aren’t going to be easy with them, as they put it. But then again, nothing that’s worth getting is ever easy.
So if you’re the kind of person that wants to develop a mindset of perseverance and self-discipline in fitness, then Sgt. Evan Duncan is the guy to see.
As a former Marine veteran and the owner of Tough Fitness, Sgt. Evan decided to apply what he has learned from training and motivating marines to the average joe.
Don’t get us wrong, he may have a seemingly intimidating “no excuses” attitude, but he genuinely loves to help people achieve their fitness goals with the right motivation.
We think this balance of strictness and encouragement is Tough Fitness’s secret to success.
The available training options themselves are pretty interesting to look into as they make use of unique combinations of routines and exercises for each client’s goal.
Tough Fitness’s service has been overall stellar throughout the years. But it’s also had some occasional issues with giving timely updates regarding scheduled sessions in the past.
The only time we’ve ever heard of such issues is when one of the trainers was out on vacation and had other personal things to figure out. Other than that, we think you should rarely have any problems in regards to scheduling a session with the trainers here.

Pros
- Trainers are highly experienced with training according to the science of fitness
- Has a unique variety of training options that cater to a wider range of fitness goals
- Also offers virtual fitness training programs that are good for home workouts
- Willing to lend equipment for virtual fitness use at home
Cons
- Facilities are currently at 50% capacity amid the pandemic
Elevate Fitness should be the place for you if you prefer a personalized environment surrounded by athletes and trainers ready to elevate your fitness levels.
Having been in service for 15 years, the trainers here already know how to separate right from wrong in terms of exercise routines. We think its scientific approach to fitness definitely has something to do with it.
A lot of its personal trainers are both athletes and science degree holders. So whether it’s building muscle or guiding you with the proper diet, they’re well-trained to do so.
The founder, Stephanie Acosta, for instance, received various certifications in functional fitness training, dietary guidance, and so on. Even looking at her physique is already a very strong testament to her credibility as a personal trainer in and of itself.
When it comes to her whole team, they’re all in the same boat as her in bringing out the best fitness training program for just about anyone willing to put in the work.
The inclusion of specific workouts such as Tabata and total body fit camp is also cool to see and would give you an idea of just what kind of intensity you can expect.
Amid the pandemic, Elevate also offers virtual fitness programs that are good for when you don’t have time to go to the gym. And don’t worry if you lack the equipment, as it even lends equipment to you whenever you start your virtual fitness training at home.
To note, this virtual fitness option is more than likely connected to the fact that its onsite facilities are currently operating at 50% capacity only. As a result, those hoping to get a feel of the typical gym atmosphere at Elevate Fitness may be slightly inconvenienced by this.
5. Get Fit with Faryn
Overview of Services: Virtual Personal Training + Coach, Partner Personal Training + Coach, Prenatal + Postpartum Wellness + Fitness Coach, Mindfulness + Self Care Coach, Running Coach, Nutrition Coach.

Pros
- Takes into consideration a wide variety of medical conditions during training
- Effectively combines overall physical fitness with mental wellness
- Doesn’t require any gym membership to avail of its services
- Also offers virtual training sessions via Zoom, Facebook, and Facetime
Cons
- May not be the best choice for those into more high-intensity training for bodybuilding
- Not available during the weekends
When it comes to getting fit while achieving all-around wellness, one of the best things to do, in our opinion, is to Get Fit with Faryn.
Despite what the name suggests, you’re getting more than just fitness when you start training with the founder, Faryn Schwartz.
It’s a delight to find out that she’s both a fitness coach and a wellness expert, which are two things that really work well together when executed properly.
Sometimes, simply working out and getting a sweat in would be good enough for the short term. But having the right mindset to go beyond just “working out” and “being fit” is something that Faryn has been doing for the past 20 or so years.
We think the way that she generally incorporates fitness and wellness can build up good habits and bring great life changes to those training with her.
We like how she added mental health to the equation, as it’s something that seems commonly taken for granted during physical activity. After all, the mind and the body are interconnected in more ways than one.
In general, Faryn is surprisingly experienced in a variety of medical conditions, both physical and mental. Needless to say, she thought about her approach to fitness and wellness through and through.
To add to that, she doesn’t even require any gym membership and also does virtual training, which further adds to how potentially great her service can be for you.
But there are also some downsides to the nature of her fitness approach, it seems. For example, if you’re looking to find a trainer that’s going to help you transform into Arnold Schwarzenegger, then she may not have the best approach for that.
Her services seem to be geared more towards general fitness and wellness, as opposed to rigorous high-intensity or high-volume training for massive biceps.

Fit Over 40 Dallas is a highly specialized fitness center focused on providing age-specific workouts for men and women.
They noticed how the majority of diet and exercise programs these days are geared towards the younger generation and made the decision to help individuals with the age of 40 and over.
With a total of four services which is the personal training, semi-private class, online training, and golf fitness training, they aim to provide longevity and not vanity. Thus, their goal is to make their clients move, feel, and live better.
Each program is designed to cater their clients needs, wants, and goals, that is why they constructed a private studio with zero distractions located in Carrollton, and serve North Dallas and Plano.
We particularly liked their personal training since they follow a proprietary program called system 5-20-5. This program is perfect for people of older age since it begins with a 5-minute warm-up, then a 20-minute full-body workout, and will end with a 5-minute cool-down stretch.
With everything they have to offer, we truly believe that Fit Over 40 Dallas is one of the best training and health centers for people who need a different type of health program that does not involve jumping or burpees.

Pros
- Offers a range of fitness services
- Can help improve your strength, flexibility, or body shape
- Offers online personal training
Cons
- Website is a bit hard to navigate
If you’re looking for a professional personal fitness trainer to help you with your goals of being fit and strong, we think Tarzan-Maxx is a great option.
They understand that finding a good trainer is important and could be a good decision to bring your workouts to the next level.
We think they’re a one-stop destination for anything fitness. Whether you want to increase your strength or flexibility, shape your body, prepare for a contest, have a sport specific training —whatever it is they can help you with!
They offer online personal training as well, which we think is perfect for those who can’t find a personal trainer near them because this one you can do from wherever you are.
We’ve asked clients what they think of their experience training with Tarzan-Maxx and everyone has vouched that it was such a pleasant experience and their goals were definitely achieved!
We have no comment about his services but we think revamping their website would be a good idea because it’s a bit too outdated and quite difficult to navigate.

Body Renovation Fitness Center, located in Dallas, TX, stands out as a premier choice for personal training, offering customized fitness programs for clients of all ages and abilities. Founded by Bear Mitchell, the center is dedicated to helping clients achieve their fitness goals through personalized training sessions that fit seamlessly into their busy lifestyles. The team at Body Renovation is committed to providing a holistic approach to fitness, which includes not only physical training but also nutritional guidance and mental well-being support. With a focus on flexibility and convenience, Body Renovation aims to make fitness accessible and effective for everyone.
We like that each client receives a tailored fitness plan designed to meet their specific goals and needs. However, the personalized attention and high level of expertise offered by Body Renovation come at a premium price.
