Pros

  • Nearly 10 years of experience
  • Budget-friendly
  • Free beer and snacks for customers

Cons

  • Hard to book an appointment

There probably isn’t a barbershop in existence that could “out-cool” Brass Tacks. In addition to traditional cuts and impeccable close shaves, they also serve you delicious craft beer—which is not something you can enjoy at every barbershop.

They offer reasonable prices (in our opinion) and have some of the most skilled barbers out of everyone we’ve visited in the past. So, it made sense for us to include them on our list of best barbershops.

We appreciate how welcoming they are when receiving guests. They go to great lengths to ensure that you feel comfortable and (dare we say) pampered during your stay.

Did we mention they also offer snacks? You can relax in the waiting area while your barber finishes setting up his tools.

We were surprised to see the owner working on a few customers as well. He was friendly and chatted freely with the people in the shop.

You can take your kids, parents, and grandparents to Brass Tacks. However old you are and whatever your tastes may be, they’re sure to have someone who can help you out.

Keep in mind that since they’re quite a busy shop, booking an appointment can be tricky. The shop recommends you call at least seven days before your desired date so they can accommodate you in their schedule.

Pros

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Unique 1920s-themed shop
  • Warm and welcoming staff
  • Budget-friendly

Cons

  • Long wait time

Barbershop by day and a snazzy little bar by night – this magnificent 1920s-themed establishment is a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy the Dallas nightlife with a fresh cut.

High & Tight Barbershop has been in business for more than five years. They offer haircuts, beard trims, and shaves, topped by a malty whiskey.

It might not be the best place to bring your kid. However, it would certainly be a great place for you and your pals to hang out and get a shave.

We admire how light-hearted and easy to talk to the employees are. It made getting a haircut more fun and interactive, something that we’ve never experienced with other barbers before.

Conversation is a great way to build relationships with your customers, and we appreciate how this shop is putting the strategy to good use.

In terms of prices, they’re relatively cheaper compared to other barbershops in town. Nevertheless, this doesn’t affect the quality of their work.

That said, High & Tight doesn’t come without its fair share of flaws.

During our surveys, several of their past clients said that the shop doesn’t entertain clients who come early to their appointments.

So, if your appointment is at ten and you arrive thirty minutes early,  you’ll have to wait around until your scheduled appointment, even if there aren’t any other customers around while you’re waiting.

Pros

  • Bonafide Barber Shop mobile app
  • Convenient booking process
  • Trained and highly skilled barbers
  • Kid-friendly services

Cons

  • Expensive

Do you often have a hard time booking your barbershop appointments? Well, all your struggles are about to go away thanks to the Bonafide Barber Shop app!

This nifty tool offers a more convenient way for you to book your barber shop appointments. You just download the app, click on your designed service, and set a date and time for when you want to drop by.

We love that Bonafide Barber Shop thought about this innovation. It’s truly made many people’s experiences more memorable.

Another great thing about them is that they have a huge team of equally trained and highly skilled barbers. They have experience in almost every technique you can think of.

Whatever style you’re aiming to hit, they can surely help you achieve your goal.

You can take your children here for the “Kid’s Haircut.” Although, we should warn you that it’s not the cheapest service we’ve seen so far.

If you don’t want to spend $25 on a single haircut, you might want to consider cutting your kid’s hair at home.

Pros

  • Almost 7 years of experience
  • Skilled and respectful barbers
  • Free scotch and cocktails

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Some barbers ignore client requests

If you’re looking for full-service haircut and styling services, Scissors & Scotch is the perfect place to consider. They top off your appointments with a tasty glass of ten-year-old scotch – they also have an extensive menu of cocktails you can refer to, in case scotch isn’t your thing.

Scissors & Scotch has served thousands of people over the years, with the majority of them having nothing but good things to say about the shop’s offers. Naturally, we were curious to see why so many people preferred their services over others.

We found that many people loved how friendly and attentive the shop employees were. They listened intently to customer requests and went above and beyond to give the clients what they wanted.

For most people, the styling was a success and they went home with contented smiles. Unfortunately, others were not as lucky.

This is because not everyone at Scissors & Scotch listens to what the customer wants. During our surveys, one client told us that their requests were outright ignored by their barber, who proceeded to do what he wanted to the customer’s hair.

While we understand it’s important for barbers to be confident with their services, this type of exchange can potentially ruin a healthy relationship with a client.

Pros

  • Exceptional quality
  • Efficient service
  • Affordable pricing
  • Skilled barbers

Cons

  • No promos yet

Five Star Barber is undoubtedly the epitome of barbershops. Our experience with this establishment was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked through their door, it was evident that their commitment to excellence is unmatched.

Efficiency is their middle name. Our appointment was not merely a time slot; it was an appointment with punctuality itself. No waiting around, just precision and promptness.

Quality, oh the quality! We couldn’t help but admire the skilled hands that worked on us. Every snip and shave felt like a work of art. Five Star Barber doesn’t just cut hair; they craft it.

The cost may have had us skeptical, but it was surprisingly reasonable for the superior service offered. Quality over quantity, and they deliver it without breaking the bank.

Our visit to Five Star Barber was not just a haircut; it was a grooming experience. The meticulous attention to detail and the personal touch they provide truly sets them apart from the rest.

The ambiance of the establishment exudes sophistication. From the elegant decor to the choice of soothing background music, every element is curated to make our time there truly enjoyable.

The barbers are more than just professionals; they are conversationalists, entertainers, and confidants. Our time in the chair was not only about grooming but also about engaging in delightful banter.

Their range of services caters to every grooming need, from classic haircuts to modern styles, and even beard grooming that left us looking dapper.

The hot towel treatment was the cherry on top of the grooming sundae. It’s the kind of pampering that makes one feel like royalty.

We can’t help but be effusive in our praise for Five Star Barber. If perfection had a name, it would be theirs. We leave their establishment not just looking our best but feeling our best. Five stars for Five Star Barber, indeed!

However, they don’t offer promos yet. We suggest checking their website for other affordable deals.

Pros

  • Services for women and children
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Budget-friendly

Cons

  • Inconsistent customer service

Kutinfed Barbershop has been in business for more than 10 years. Naturally, we had a lot of expectations for them, and most of them were met quite spectacularly.

For instance, they don’t limit their services to men who need haircuts. If you’re a woman who needs a new style or a mother that needs a haircut for their child, you can visit Kutinfed for affordable full-service haircuts anytime.

They have highly skilled barbers attending to clients and making sure they get what they need. The vibe of the shop is also welcoming and calming – which helps with children who get finicky near scissors.

Talking to the employees was pleasant. However, we’ve heard from previous clients that some of these employees have a tendency to be condescending and rude.

Through our interviews, we also learned that there have been clients in the past who experienced allergic reactions after getting a haircut from this shop.

While this incident seems to only have happened once, it does suggest that the barbers don’t clean their tools properly.

To be safe, always ask to see your barber clean their materials in front of you. This is the only way to ensure that they’re using tools that won’t cause you harm or illness.
