Pros
- 30+ years of experience
- Accepts most major insurance plans
- Three different clinic locations
- Offers pediatric services
Cons
- Only available three days per week
- Expensive
Dr. Kletz has been in business for over 30 years, specializing in foot and ankle surgeries. Although his client base is composed mainly of adults, he also offers services to clients younger than five years old.
His flexibility along with his straightforward nature are what made him popular among dallasites. He doesn’t beat around the bush like most doctors do when delivering updates or diagnoses.
Furthermore, he’s honest about the treatments that he can and can’t offer – saving patients time and money.
We noticed that he’s naturally kind and gentle with the way he speaks, so patients don’t feel anxious or scared at all when getting treatments. His office staff are also some of the nicest people we’ve interacted with so far.
They make sure you feel welcomed and comfortable during your visit. Additionally, they help you with things such as filling out appointment forms and filing insurance claims.
If you want to book an appointment with Dr. Kletz, you need to time it carefully. His clinic is only open three times a week and most of the time his schedule is pretty packed.
Due to his years of experience and his multiple specializations, services from Dr. Kletz can get pretty expensive, in our opinion. It’s best to get a quote for services prior to your visit.
And don’t forget to ask if they carry your insurance, so you can save more on treatments.

- Offers pediatric foot care
- Bunion specialist
Cons
- Rushes appointments

Dr. Joel Brook specializes in bunion treatments and ankle/feet surgery. He’s been practicing for over 20 years, so his skills are undoubtedly impressive and his services effective.
He treats both adult and pediatric patients in his clinic, which is accessible via car or public transport. They also have facilities for patients in wheelchairs, making them a convenient choice for people with disabilities.
It’s understandable how some patients would feel anxious or intimidated by ankle or feet surgery. Therefore, it’s necessary for every doctor to know how to ease their patients’ nerves and provide them with reassurance.
Based on interviews with his previous clients, they see Dr. Brook as a caring and gentle care provider. He has an incredible bedside manner and does a great job at explaining his treatments to his patients in detail.
Unfortunately, due to his focus on providing straightforward services, some of his patients feel that he rushes his appointments. During one of our interviews, a previous client told us that they spent no more than five minutes with the doctor before being asked to step outside.
Although we approve of quick and straightforward care, it would still be nice for Dr. Brook to spend a bit more time with his patient. That way they won’t feel as if they’re being neglected or ignored.

Pros

Cons

Dr. Yeargain specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic and endoscopic procedures, making him one of the best doctors to approach if you’re struggling with arthritis. He also has a knack for aesthetics, which is why he’s also every patient’s go-to for foot and ankle reconstruction.
We were quite impressed with the way he carried himself in front of his patients. He’s accommodating and empathetic, and – based on our surveys – is an incredibly good listener to boot.
Most doctors tend to rush to end their appointments, so we appreciate how Dr. Yeargain takes his time with his patients. He talks everything through with you from back to cover, so everyone is on the same page at all times.
The staff were all pretty amazing as well. They go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome.
Furthermore, they were well-versed in all their services and procedures, which made it easier to ask them questions and get answers.
Dr. Yeargain’s office accepts most major insurances. To make sure that yours is one of them, you may contact the office ahead and inquire.
Since Dr. Yeargain is such a popular provider, it can be tricky to book an appointment with him on short notice. Thus, you may want to plan your visit early to secure a meeting.

Pros
- Focus on practical patient education
- 10+ years of experience
- Accepts most major insurance
- Head of podiatry team
Cons
- Difficult to schedule appointment
- Inconvenient clinic location
The great thing about Dr. Legel’s practice is that patients come out knowing more about their conditions than when they first come in.
Proactivity ensures that a patient’s treatment has positive and effective results. It seems like Dr. Legel also stands by this belief, as he focuses a great deal on practical patient education.
During our interviews, his patients went on about how they’d never feel rushed or criticized when talking to Dr. Legel. He promptly answers all your questions and gives valuable insights that help patients understand their conditions better.
He has a calm and soothing way of speaking which, in our experience, can help ease patient anxiety and fear. His staff also does a great job at making everything feel comfortable and convenient for you during your appointment.
All that said, we do think they could do a lot better in terms of their appointment scheduling system. It felt like it took them forever to answer our call and book us an appointment.
Luckily, the receptionist was polite and had us quickly written down for an appointment the next week.
We should say that their clinic location isn’t the most accessible, especially if you’re commuting to your appointment. Bus stops are several blocks away, so it might be a little far to walk.
However, if this isn’t too big of an inconvenience, you should definitely check the clinic out.

Pros
- 25+ years of experience
- Convenient location
- Voted Best Doctors in Dallas by DBest
Cons
- Difficult to book appointments
- Rushes appointments
Dr. Ashton specializes in podiatric surgery, making him a reliable choice for anyone suffering from bunions, hammertoes, and ankle arthritis – among others. He’s been practicing for over 25 years, which has undoubtedly sharpened his skills and knowledge of podiatric medicine.
We learned from interviewing a few of his previous patients that he’s a kind and empathetic doctor. He does everything he can to ensure that his patients understand their conditions and treatments.
Additionally, he makes sure to answer questions straightforwardly to avoid confusing patients.
Unfortunately, his clear-cut manner sometimes makes it seem like he’s rushing through his appointments. It would do his practice good if he could slow down and give patients a little more time to converse with him and pose concerns.
On the other hand, we appreciate how he makes himself available to his patients, especially post-surgery. According to some, he makes sure to check on his patients often to follow up on appointments and provide encouragement while they recover.
Due to Dr. Ashton’s popularity, it can be a little tricky to book an appointment with him. So, if you wish to work with him, you need to do it weeks before to secure a slot.
