As a professional vocalist for over 20 years, Damon K Clark has shared the stage with Grammy winners Paula Cole and Andrea Wallace. He even earned praise from respected publications like the New York Times and Dallas Observer.

His coaching results speak just as loudly. He has trained major talent such as Grammy winner SARRA and producer Caleb Sean, who has worked with Beyoncé.

Vocal students can sign up for packages of 4, 8, or 12, each lasting 60 minutes. For us, these are great in terms of structure and accountability.

For advanced clients, he also offers Music Business Strategy Sessions, where you can learn how to copyright your music and release it digitally.

All these sound amazing, so we were surprised to hear complaints that his lessons might not be very beginner-friendly.

Caroline Bosley is a Dallas vocal coach certified under Jeff Mathena at The Unhindered Voice. She’s passionate about helping vocalists learn to use their voice with intention and freedom.

This is probably why she managed to successfully train incredible local talent. Her students include a musical theater performer, a touring country musician, and a recording artist.

Each student is given a personalized workout plan every week. Based on your goals, she structures each 50-minute lesson in an effective flow: a short practice follow-up plus focused exercises, as well as a real song application.

She’s pretty flexible, too, since you can sign up for in-person or virtual lessons.

It’s not surprising that she’s almost impossible to book. More often than not, she isn’t taking new clients, so you may need to hop on a waitlist for a spot.

Since 2011, Edward K. Studio Of Voice has been coaching vocalists in the DFW area. He’s been singing since age five, has performed across Italy, Bulgaria, and the US, and even released some albums, so you know you’ll be getting top-tier instruction.

His approach is one-of-a-kind—instead of forcing students into stiff, classical boxes, he uses the Italian bel canto to free the natural voice. This technique works for all genres: musical theatre, pop, opera, and worship.

During lessons, he is said to be a bit strict. We wouldn’t expect anything less from someone who has students appear on American Idol and The Voice.

Another thing that could make you gulp a little is the price. Some have said his lessons are a bit costly, so this option might not suit casual hobbyists.
