5 Best Voice Coaches in Dallas to Fine-Tune Your Signature Voice

Expertise: We picked facilities with vocal coaches who have professional training in technique or performance. Or they have years of hands-on experience working with singers and performers of all levels.

Genre Specialization: We selected schools with teachers experienced in multiple music styles, from pop and musical theater to classical and R&B.

Flexibility: We looked for places that offer both in-person and online sessions to fit different schedules, as well as various class formats.

Client Results: We highlighted spots with vocal trainers who have helped students noticeably improve their range and tone, not to mention confidence.

My friend’s daughter always had a sweet voice, but when she performed for us during dinner at their house, we were in awe. She sounded so good!

We showered her with compliments, and she beamed and told us it was all because of her new singing coach. I’m not surprised, though; even Adele and Lady Gaga have vocal trainers to help enhance their natural gifts.

All in all, I believe it was money well spent. That’s why I decided to round up the best voice instructors in Dallas—maybe it’s time we all start unlocking our singing potential.

Park Cities School of Music offers a comprehensive menu of music lessons for kids and adults. They serve not only Dallas but also University Park, Highland Park, Lakewood, and nearby communities.

If your little ones are ready to dip their toes in the singing world, you’d want to choose Elaine Andrepont as a coach, who specializes in early childhood music. Her goal is to uplift and guide children using musicality and art.

Of course, since there are children involved, the school takes security seriously via extensive background checks and CCTVs in every single room.

Older students can join their PCSM Musical Theater program, designed to build vocal skills and self-confidence through performance. We think this is perfect for those with loftier dreams (hello, Broadway!).

As for flexibility, you can have a lesson in-studio, in-home, or online; you can also choose private or group classes and schedule them daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Just make sure to confirm your bookings since we heard about scheduling mix-ups.

Pros

  • Wide range of service area coverage
  • Specializes in early childhood music
  • Extensive security measures
  • PCSM Musical Theater program
  • Flexible schedules and settings

Cons

  • Reports of scheduling mix-ups

As a professional vocalist for over 20 years, Damon K Clark has shared the stage with Grammy winners Paula Cole and Andrea Wallace. He even earned praise from respected publications like the New York Times and Dallas Observer.

His coaching results speak just as loudly. He has trained major talent such as Grammy winner SARRA and producer Caleb Sean, who has worked with Beyoncé.

Vocal students can sign up for packages of 4, 8, or 12, each lasting 60 minutes. For us, these are great in terms of structure and accountability.

For advanced clients, he also offers Music Business Strategy Sessions, where you can learn how to copyright your music and release it digitally.

All these sound amazing, so we were surprised to hear complaints that his lessons might not be very beginner-friendly.

  • Over 20 years of experience
  • Shared the stage with Grammy winners
  • Earned praise from respected publications
  • Trained major musical talent
  • Offers various lesson packages
  • Music Business Strategy Sessions

Cons

He gave me the best advice regarding confidence

“Posting this review 3 years too late. Damon was my first-ever vocal teacher. Three years is a very long time ago, and three years ago, I was a very different person then. I was a shy, very young person in a new city. I was struggling with my finances and, unfortunately, had to stop taking classes with Damon. But his lessons were amazing, and he gave me so much other advice besides music; he gave me the best advice regarding confidence, and although I never had the opportunity to use it in a musical way. It helped tremendously. I definitely saw huge improvements in the 6 months I was with him, and I highly recommend him to anyone else looking for not just a teacher, but a mentor and a role model. I plan on taking lessons with him again soon.”

Compassionate perfectionist who will push you to improve

“Damon possesses the rare ability to teach, coach, produce, perform, and be your greatest cheerleader. Although he teaches all voice types and styles of music, his technique always puts the singer’s health and career longevity first. He’s a compassionate perfectionist who will push you to improve without making you feel bad about your flaws – and then will celebrate your every success with you. I cannot say enough good about Damon.”

Caroline Bosley is a Dallas vocal coach certified under Jeff Mathena at The Unhindered Voice. She’s passionate about helping vocalists learn to use their voice with intention and freedom.

This is probably why she managed to successfully train incredible local talent. Her students include a musical theater performer, a touring country musician, and a recording artist.

Each student is given a personalized workout plan every week. Based on your goals, she structures each 50-minute lesson in an effective flow: a short practice follow-up plus focused exercises, as well as a real song application.

She’s pretty flexible, too, since you can sign up for in-person or virtual lessons.

It’s not surprising that she’s almost impossible to book. More often than not, she isn’t taking new clients, so you may need to hop on a waitlist for a spot.

TR Music is a national chain that has taught over 118,000 hours of lessons.

Since they’re a big chain, they offer generous new-student perks like a free lesson for every package or bulk discounts. And if, for some reason, your first class doesn’t click, they’ll refund that single session to match you with a new teacher at no cost.

Students can opt for in-person, home, or in-studio lessons. No matter how busy or weird your schedule might get, they’ll be happy to adapt for you.

What’s unique about this school is that their vocal trainers are real, working musicians: songwriters, recording artists, and performers who actively gig and create. We believe this adds depth to their lessons since they can also share their experiences.

As expected, the more popular the teacher, the less availability they might have. So, you might want to book well in advance.

  • Taught over 118,000 hours of lessons
  • Offers generous new-student perks
  • First session satisfaction guarantee
  • In-person, home, or in-studio lessons

“Sherry has an incredible positive vibe around her, and she exudes calm, which has really helped me to lay back and just enjoy the art of singing and life in general. Going to Sherry and singing is now my ultimate form of therapy, and every time I go to class, even if I’m feeling anxious or agitated before class, I always leave feeling happier and light as a feather when I’m done.”

Since 2011, Edward K. Studio Of Voice has been coaching vocalists in the DFW area. He’s been singing since age five, has performed across Italy, Bulgaria, and the US, and even released some albums, so you know you’ll be getting top-tier instruction.

His approach is one-of-a-kind—instead of forcing students into stiff, classical boxes, he uses the Italian bel canto to free the natural voice. This technique works for all genres: musical theatre, pop, opera, and worship.

During lessons, he is said to be a bit strict. We wouldn’t expect anything less from someone who has students appear on American Idol and The Voice.

Another thing that could make you gulp a little is the price. Some have said his lessons are a bit costly, so this option might not suit casual hobbyists.

Pros

  • Over 10 years of experience
  • Has performed globally
  • Released a few albums
  • Uses the Italian bel canto
  • Students were on American Idol and The Voice

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Strict lessons

I now control my voice in ways I never thought I could

“As a first-time student, I have learned so much from Edward. He makes me feel like home, and I always learn something new every time I come in for a lesson. He is so genuine and extremely passionate about the study of the Voice and the longevity of his students’ vocal careers. Me being in a vocal competition called “The Voice.” He is very knowledgeable on the “How To” fix bad habits. He also knows how to explain it well for me to understand. It helps me to become a better vocalist and to know how to control my voice in ways I never thought I could. You won’t be disappointed going to see Edward. He is truly one of one.”

My voice has become stronger, and its range increased

“Edward is an amazing teacher! I’ve been attending his Studio of voice since summer and already have visible results. These results can be noticed not only me, but also my family and friends. My voice has become stronger, its range has increased, and my ear for music is much better. In the classes I feel comfortable and confident! Tatiana.”
