Pros
- Engaging teachers
- Opportunity to play in a band
- Camps
- Excellent lessons
- Long hours
Cons
- A bit expensive
At one point, most of us dreamt of playing in front of a live audience with our beloved bandmates. While that dream may not be in store for most, the School of Rock in Dallas gives your kids the opportunity to do so.
Everyone is familiar with School of Rock — or at least the concept of it. This school lets children express themselves using instruments and music, whether or not they know how to play.
One thing we love about it is the comradery of the kids. We saw videos online of the children playing during their summer camp, and you feel their joy and jubilation as they performed in front of a crowd.
Each individual lesson is also quite excellent. Every student starts class with lessons suited to their level as they gradually move to the next one.
If you’re worried your child gets left behind, don’t worry, the teachers do a wonderful job handling the kids.
One parent mentioned their child never felt lonely when his peers moved on to more advanced lessons thanks to his teacher reassuring him.
As you know, our preference for food differs — the same thing can be said for musical instruments. We love that the students can pick which instruments they want to learn.
The only downside we’ve seen so far is the price of admission. However, when it comes to our children, we feel we shouldn’t cheapen out and pass on once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like this.

Pros

- Offers lessons for adults
- Relatively cheap
- Private lessons
- Lessons at-home
Cons
- Not available 24/7
Dallas Piano Academy is one of the schools for piano lessons in Dallas. It offers lessons depending on your age and skill and has produced some of the best pianists in the city.
We managed to talk to and ask one of the students about their lessons. The first thing they told us was how polite and respectful the teachers are — a far cry from what they expected heading into an elite musical academy.
The academy also offers lessons in the comfort of your home. This is a good option for those who don’t have enough time to commute or are uncomfortable in a group setting.
In addition to having classes at home, you can also book and reserve private lessons during the morning.
It came as a surprise to us when we found out about the rates. These rates differ depending on your schedule and set-up, but generally, they’re cheaper than most piano lessons.
And while all these sound nice, we did hear about how hard it was to book the aforementioned private lessons. The scheduling issues are because of the ratio of students and teachers.
Overall, however, we still recommend Dallas Piano Academy. It has an excellent track record and is relatively cheap as well!

Pros
- Excellent lessons
- Different kinds of lessons
- Relatively cheap
- Group and private lessons
Cons
- Some rude teachers
- Hard to book schedules
Do you want your children to learn piano while developing interpersonal skills? If so, then Gray School of Music in Dallas is for you.
There’s a lot to be excited about when enrolling in this school. For one, the lessons are all excellent, the teachers are absolutely wonderful, and the fees are cheap, but the biggest thing to celebrate is the children.
A large number of students means your child will grow up in an environment filled with passion and excitement. Having classmates their age makes it easier for them to absorb the lessons and play instruments.
We also love how well-thought-out the lesson plans are. They account for the learning curve, skill level, and the instrument’s difficulty to ensure everyone learns at the same pace.
If your child is uncomfortable in a group setting, then the school also offers private lessons. These might be a little more expensive, however.
Another thing worth noting is the school offers other instruments. Besides the piano, students can also learn the ukulele, guitar, and drums!
There are a couple of drawbacks here and there. One of which is that there seem to be some teachers that are hard to work with.
According to one student, the guitar teacher was rude and unprofessional. Granted, the student was in his 20s, but that should still warrant professionalism and respect from anyone.
We also heard that it’s tricky to book an appointment at times. Whether that’s getting charged extra fees or finding the right schedule.

Pros
- Professional teachers
- Passionate students
- Excellent lessons
- Easy to schedule appointments and classes
- For both kids and adults
Cons
- Expensive
There seems to be this misconception that learning music can’t be fun. We’re here to tell you that it’s false — the Dallas Music Academy says so themselves!
This academy is perfect for those looking to take up music semi-professionally. It offers advanced lessons taught only by the best and most passionate musicians.
Due to the passion displayed by the teachers, the students also reciprocate the same intense energy. This results in a motivating environment where one can grow as a student and a person.
As we mentioned, the lessons here are suited for those looking to become professional musicians. However, don’t let that fool you, as the school also offers lessons both for beginners and kids!
One parent we talked to mentioned that it’s also easy to book appointments and classes. The school does a great job accommodating the students with their scheduling needs, resulting in harmony between both parties.
The only downside we saw was its lesson fees. Let’s face it, piano lessons are expensive, but the Dallas Music Academy takes it to a whole other level.
For us, we believe that the price of admission is worth it. You’ll get world-class lessons, an environment like no other, and a life skill!

Pros
- Personable teachers
- Great learning environment
- Cheap
- Hassle-free appointments and classes
- Different lessons
Cons
- Difficult lessons
If there’s a cheat code to being a great musician, that’s starting out young. And to add to that, starting your musical journey at Park Cities School of Music outright propels you over the competition.
This musical school prides itself on having the best music teachers around. They are experienced, talented, and, most importantly, personable.
We got the chance to talk to the parents of one of the students. They both mentioned their kid is always giddy and excited to attend music class because they get along well with their teacher.
The teachers’ attitudes and passion towards music make for a fun learning environment. The students are always more responsive to their teacher’s energy, combining both results in productivity and life inside the classroom.
Parents rave about the teachers, students, and overall environment, but they always circle back to the lesson fees when asked what they like about the school. Because compared to its competitors, the lessons here are affordable and cheap.
Lastly, the school doesn’t offer just piano lessons. It also has different music classes like voice lessons and music therapy.
One downside we noticed was how difficult and stressful the lessons are. However, it’s to be expected when it comes to musical classes, and the teachers make sure the student doesn’t feel overwhelmed and pressured.
Overall, we love what they’re doing at Park Cities School of Music. And we recommend giving it a call if you want your children to start their musical journey the right way!
