Pros

  • Highly trained in ocular pathology and ocular surgery co-management
  • Very knowledgeable and loves to explain things thoroughly to each patient
  • Supported by professional and accommodating staff
  • Also offers great pediatric eye care for children

Cons

  • Has been prone to long waiting times due to poor management of schedules

Dr. Yuvani Tran of Bright Eyes Dallas is a licensed optometrist that’s known for her passionate engagement in educating every patient she sees in eye care.

Her training experience in both ocular pathology and ocular surgery co-management solidifies her further as a versatile and well-equipped optometrist.

From taking care of younger patients in pediatric eye care to co-managing LASIK and related surgeries, we think she’s capable of doing a wide variety of services for everyone.

With this scope of knowledge, she also loves to explain things thoroughly to each patient. This is good for both the patients and even Dr. Tran, of course.

Firstly, patients can ask anything about eye care and she’ll be able to give a detailed but clear explanation on a whim.

And secondly, this is a good way that she can maintain the trust of her patients. Everybody loves an intelligent and transparent doctor.

To add to this, she’s even supported by staff members that are just as professional and accommodating as her.

Overall, we think her clinic presents a promising experience of great service judging by her credentials and what past patients have to say.

If we were to mention one thing she and her team can improve on, it’s definitely the long waiting times.

Apparently, managing their schedules is not their forte. At least not as much as the other aspects of their service.

Whether it’s because of their system breaking down or they’re generally overbooked, there’s definitely something that’s causing this delay that we hope they address properly.

Pros

  • Double board-certified in eye disease treatment and glaucoma co-management
  • Demonstrates good bedside manners to better understand each patient
  • Recently very consistent in providing good healthcare and customer service
  • Also able to perform diabetic eye health evaluations

Cons

  • Scheduling system can crash at times, leading to canceled appointments

As a therapeutic optometrist, Dr. Clint Meyer of Dallas Eyeworks is superb at helping people restore and maintain their vision throughout their lives.

Aside from the standard eye exams for both children and adults, he’s actually an optometric glaucoma specialist as well. This is because of his double board certification in both eye disease treatment and glaucoma co-management.

It’s already a solid start for his credentials, which would probably explain why he’s been capable of adhering to only the highest level of eye care for years. Quite a unique scope of his specialty is that he also performs diabetic eye health evaluations.

While diabetes may not be the first thing that comes to mind when talking about your eye condition, it’s certainly an important connection that Dr. Meyer has managed to make.

It’s an impressive show of specialty in optometry and further makes it evident of his decades of training and practice in the field. We’re glad that he’s yet again one of those intelligent doctors that demonstrate good bedside manners in order to better understand each patient.

Perhaps this simple combination of wit and good morals is one of his secrets to being consistent in providing good healthcare and even customer service.

The only thing that seems to drag him and his team down is their faulty scheduling system.

It’s been prone to crashing a lot. And when that happens, you can expect a lot of annoyed and inconvenienced people who already booked their appointments.

We sure hope they find a solution to fix this permanently, so as to not waste the potential of providing great eye care service to anyone interested.

Pros

  • Active member of several optometric associations and charity events for eye care
  • Takes time to explain things and reassure patients of their case
  • Both very detail-oriented and personable in his practice
  • Has staff that’s very welcoming and great at assisting each patient

Cons

  • Staff members are sometimes inefficient and confusing with schedules and updates

As the founder and CEO of All Care Eye Clinic, Dr. Ryan Schamerloh is able to display top-notch optometric services for a variety of patient cases.

Also a glaucoma specialist, Dr. Schamerloh is impressively proficient in various procedures of both the testing and treatment process of glaucoma.

Not only that, but he’s a pretty active eye care practitioner even outside his own clinic.

For one, he likes to participate in a lot of charity events that promote good eye care. It’s a pretty honorable thing to do overall.

Some other things he’s an active member of are the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association, which actually add to his all-around legitimacy.

Inside his clinic, patients love how detail-oriented and personable he is in everything that he does for them.

He also likes imparting his knowledge to his patients, which essentially reassures them of whatever concerns they may have.

His friendly demeanor seems to easily rub off on the whole staff too, as you can expect them to be very welcoming and great at assisting when you walk into the office.

While his whole clinic seems to give off this nice vibe, this in no way means that it’s perfect in every regard. The staff members’ main weakness is apparently their inefficiency to set schedules and give timely updates.

Not only does this cause an obvious annoyance for the patients, but it also causes a lot of confusion for both parties due to miscommunication.

Miscommunication is one of those things that can easily put people off from even pushing through with the appointment no matter how great the doctor may be.

Pros

  • Already received a “Clinical Excellence Award” during his doctorate degree pursuit
  • Highly trained in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and family eye care
  • Skilled in the latest technology and treatments for each patient
  • Has professional staff that performs consistently even throughout the pandemic

Cons

  • Prescribes considerably expensive eyewear that only adds minimal differences in quality
  • Lacks a bit of transparency when it comes to eyewear options during appointments

Dr. Jaime Gonzalez is a therapeutic optometrist that has quite a rich academic background in all things concerning your eyes.

It’s really impressive to find out that he already received a “Clinical Excellence Award” as early as in the middle of his doctorate studies. Not only does this imply that he has high intelligence,  but also that he always had the fundamentals of a competent doctor going for him.

Now that he’s an actual doctor, he has received a ton of training that further propels him forward in the practice of optometry.

Whether it’s about ocular diseases, specialty contact lenses, and family eye care, we can say that he’s extremely familiar with what causes alterations in one’s vision.

With such training, he’s naturally well-versed with even the latest ocular technology and treatments that can cater to any patient’s case. It’s good to see doctors like him keeping up with the times to ensure that patients receive only the best that healthcare can offer.

We can also applaud his staff members, as they are pretty professional and have performed consistently even throughout the pandemic.

Though if we were to point out one aspect of his service that seems worthy of doubt, it would have to be his eyewear products.

These products have one of the most expensive price ranges we’ve ever seen, while seemingly adding only a slight margin of quality compared to cheaper ones.

To add to this, the eyewear options aren’t even communicated transparently during appointments. This could easily cost people a lot of money for expensive eyewear that just doesn’t seem worth it for the price-to-quality ratio.

Pros

  • Has over 24 years of experience in optometry
  • Does very thorough exams that cover a variety of areas of concern
  • Has great bedside manners and educates each patient well
  • Has friendly staff members that provide services in a timely manner

Cons

  • Has occasionally been late for several appointments in the past
  • Had instances of miscommunication regarding insurance and charges

At Today’s Vision Mockingbird, Dr. Anthony Chapman is a notable optometrist that’s able to balance both clinical and optical services in his profession.

Locally owning the clinic with his partner Dr. Paul Hayter, what may seem like a small practice on paper actually is a very capable optometry clinic with all gizmos and gadgets.

Dr. Chapman himself has over 24 years of experience in optometry, which is probably a big factor in Today’s Vision Mockingbird’s success.

Also supported by a team of friendly staff members, each eye care service can be given to you in a timely manner.

With that many years of experience, Dr. Chapman is able to demonstrate outright thoroughness in every exam that he does for every patient.

Such exams cover a variety of areas of concern within optometry, so even the way the exams are designed alone are already very thorough.

Of course, his expertise in optometry is further amplified by his great bedside manners. Suffice to say, he can easily set the standard for doctors in the practice.

Though as much as he is smart and kind, he and his team are still not immune to a few issues that need to be addressed.

He has occasionally been late for several appointments in the past, which may signify that he either overbooks himself or just simply falls short of managing his time properly.

His clinic also had issues with communication regarding insurance and charges, which could be a dealbreaker for people that would be forced to suddenly pay out-of-pocket.
