Pros
- Model and make variety
- Budget-friendly
- Transparent pricing and procedures
- Open daily
Cons
- Sometimes forgets to include accident records in report
For anyone in the market for used or brand-new cars, Select City Cars is the perfect dealership for you. They offer clients highly competitive prices and they have a wide variety of makes and models to choose from.
Whether you’re looking for a classic Acura or a luxurious Bugatti, this dealership is sure to have it in stock. If not, they can order the model for you from their many manufacturing partners.
Now, most car dealerships are secretive about their pre-owned vehicle’s history and accident records. That’s not at all what we experienced with Select City.
They gave us all the paperwork that we asked for without hesitation. Everything was shown and explained to us without any reservations or skepticism.
Nevertheless, there have been several customers who came to us with complaints about the used cars they purchased from this dealer.
In our interviews, we learned that some customers didn’t receive a complete accident history from Select City. They only found out about a previous accident after getting it checked by a mechanic.
To avoid the same fate, we highly recommend hiring a mechanic to come and check out used cars with you. They can double-check the paperwork and examine the car to see if it’s truly in mint condition.

Pros
- 20+ years of industry experience
- BBB-accredited company
- Accessible physical location
- Expansive product inventory
- Whole inventory is viewable online
Cons
- Salespeople are sometimes shady
If you love Toyota cars, you’ll have a heck of a time browsing through the selections that Toyota of Dallas has to offer. They sell both pre-owned and brand-new models, giving you all the flexibility in the world to find the right car for YOU.
They’re a BBB-accredited company, which we take as a symbol of the company’s reliability and expertise. Additionally, they’re one of the most highly-rated dealerships in Dallas.
We love their weekly used car specials that make getting a car even more affordable for those on a budget. They also accept several financing methods, so you don’t have to settle for cash or in-house loans.
Several previous customers have expressed their disappointment about not finding the model they want at the dealership. While the company’s physical location is quite accessible to both commuters and drivers, it’s still a relatively long trip.
The dealership’s entire product inventory is available online for customers to review – something that we don’t think many clients are aware of. You can use this inventory to see what the company has in stock.
That way you don’t waste a trip down to the dealership only to find the model you’re looking for is unavailable.
Besides inventory, there’s one other thing that we should warn you about. Since their salespeople work on commission, some might try to milk you of every last cent you have in your wallet.
In one of the interviews we conducted, the customer told us about how one of the sales clerks at the dealership tried to trick them into getting an in-house loan by saying that they “didn’t work with outside lenders.”
After reaching out to other branches, the customer later found out that Toyota did, in fact, work with other lenders.
We respect the way Toyota of Dallas responded to the situation. They contacted the customer and gave them the deal that they needed, without all the hoops to jump through.

Pros
- 40+ years of industry experience
- Specializes in luxury cars
- Straightforward purchasing and shipment process
- Nationwide reach
- Flexible financing options
Cons
- Closed on weekends
This next car dealership has been in the game for over 40 years. If that doesn’t spell “EXPERIENCE” for you, we don’t know what will!
Texas Cars Direct is one of the most talked-about pre-owned luxury vehicle dealerships in Dallas-Fort Worth. Their clients come from almost every part of the United States – so you don’t even need to be from Dallas to buy a car from them.
You simply have to call them, book an appointment, choose a car you fancy, and have the item shipped as soon as you finish signing all the paperwork. The purchasing process is quite straightforward: even a toddler could do it.
The dealership specializes in Mercedes-Benz—they have almost every type of make and model. However, they also offer several other great brands, including Lexus, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, and Land Rover.
We appreciate how transparent they are with their financing rates. You can ask their clerks all the questions you need about their pricing and procedures, and they’ll answer you without any hesitation.
The dealership is open from Monday to Friday, which is a bit disappointing, especially for people who only have the weekends off. Nevertheless, their operating hours are relatively long (9 am to 6 pm), so you should have enough time to drop by after work.
4. BBC Motorsports

Pros
- 75+ years of collective employee experience
- Large area (1.4 acres)
- Wide product variety
- Flexible financing options
Cons
- Expensive
BBC Motorsports was founded in 2010, and although it’s considered the “rookie” of the lot, its staff have a collective experience of over 75 years. You can ask them absolutely anything automotive-related and they’ll have an answer for you, regardless of how tricky your question may be.
Whether you’re on the hunt for a minivan, sedan, coupe, or truck, BBC Motorsports has everything you need, and more. You can check their online inventory for details or you can also call them on the phone.
This dealership is by far the largest we’ve seen in the area. With around 1.4 acres of space for their vehicles – you can spend an entire day walking around the dealership and you’d still have a few hundred models left to view for the next day.
They aren’t the most affordable dealership in our opinion. You’d be lucky to find a car that’s prices below $15,000.
However, they do have several financing options that you can check out, so you can still get your dream car without having to shell out the cash.
We should warn you that this dealership isn’t the most responsive when it comes to emails or calls. They have hundreds, sometimes thousands, of inquiries coming in every day.
Answering everyone’s questions within a day is near impossible. However, if you wait long enough (about two to three days), you should get a reply from one of their staff.

Pros
- 20+ years of industry experience
- Budget-friendly
- Flexible financing options
- Approachable staff
Cons
- Salespeople are sometime shady
Certified Autoplex has over 20 years of industry experience. They have one of the largest inventory we’ve seen for a local car dealership, with the perfect balance of both regular and luxury vehicles.
Have a kid that’s about to turn 16 this year? Certified Autoplex is a great place to source your child’s first car from.
They offer competitive prices, plus a flexible financing system that lets you get the car you want for the lowest rates possible.
We love how approachable their salespeople are. They don’t shy away from complicated questions about their products and procedures – they’re also quite open about their pricing system.
Nevertheless, there are still some salespeople who like to live life a little on the “dark side.” We learned this from one of our survey participants.
According to them, one of the dealership’s clerks tried to change the terms of the company’s financing services. This was after the client had already been pre-approved by the company for the loan.
There’s also been one instance when a client was denied some time to take a vehicle on a test drive UNLESS they bought the car on the same day.
This type of behavior from salespeople is what discourages clients from trusting a company’s services again.
On the bright side, Certified Autoplex did take immediate action to remedy the issue. Still, if they’d taken the extra effort to screen their people better, they wouldn’t have the issue in the first place.
