Styled by Paula is run by the fabulous Paula Newlands. She wants you to understand what flatters your body and coloring so you can shop smarter.

We think Paula’s background is pretty impressive—she used to be a model in NYC, walking runways for designers like Versace! She also has a degree in fashion, and now she uses that knowledge to help others. 

If you’re in Dallas, you can visit her studio for an in-person session with preselected outfits ready for you to try on. Plus, they handle all the returns and alterations, which is a huge timesaver.

They offer virtual shopping too—Paula will chat with you about your style and curate a digital lookbook with outfit ideas and shopping links. She even throws in a quick video explaining how to rock the pieces.

They also offer Rent the Runway subscriptions, closet edits, and wardrobe styling. Keep in mind, however, that they’re closed on Sundays.

Style in the City was created by Carla Watson, who used to be an apparel rep and even owned a showroom! She believes in creating great looks without breaking the bank.

First, she’ll do a deep dive into your closet with a wardrobe evaluation—she’ll help you ditch old clothes, organize by category, and identify your personal style. 

Next comes the fun part: one-on-one shopping with Carla! She’ll pick out pieces that complement your existing wardrobe and style, helping you explore new looks and define your image.

Finally, Carla will show you how to create multiple outfits for different occasions, and she’ll even provide digital images of your new collection.

They offer services for men too, and students can also get help with specific needs like job interviews or sorority recruitment.

On the other hand, we learned that Carla’s expertise is in high demand, so snagging a session could require some flexibility.

Dallas-based stylist Eureka Calhoun, the brains behind Velvet Lope Styling, is all about creating a timeless style that works for you. 

She’s worked with models and photographers and even contributed to Oklahoma City Fashion Week. And her work has even been featured in magazines like Vulkan and Ellements.

She starts with a free 30-minute consultation to get to know you and your fashion goals.  From there, she creates a personalized roadmap to build a wardrobe that lasts.

Next comes the wardrobe update session, a 2-hour in-home adventure. Eureka will help you sort through your clothes, and you’ll even get a personalized style report and seven new outfit ideas using your existing pieces.

Finally, they offer a personal shopping experience. They’ll create a detailed shopping list based on your budget.

However, we noticed that Velvet Lope Styling offers a more limited range of services compared to other personal shoppers.

Bethany Siggins is not just an image consultant but also a style coach, speaker, and writer. She guides clients through image changes with care and understanding, recognizing the courage it takes to express oneself through style.

Her services begin with a closet edit, where she encourages letting go of items you no longer need.

When it comes to personal shopping, Bethany caters to all budgets and shops at a variety of stores, from consignment shops to high-end boutiques. She pre-pulls items before you arrive and encourages you to try everything.

Bethany also offers a custom color analysis, which we love. She uses a system with 2,000 color swatches, creating a unique color fan tailored just for you. 

With five styling packages to choose from, Bethany’s services are versatile and accommodating. The only drawback is her limited experience in the fashion industry, but we think her personalized and thoughtful approach more than makes up for it.

Akilah Yaas seems like a fashion guru with a capital “G.” Based in Dallas, this fashion fanatic has experience across the board, from luxury brands like Louis Vuitton to trendy spots like Forever 21—that kind of range is impressive!

Her personal shopping service also caught our eye. You can choose a shopping trip to your favorite stores, or let her create a mood board to guide you—sounds perfect for someone who wants a refresh but isn’t sure where to start.

Akilah even offers red carpet styling—the whole shebang, from outfit selection to “get ready with me” assistance. Sounds like a dream come true for those big events.

Note that it can be a bit pricey, but if you’re a busy exec or entrepreneur, the time-saving factor and Akilah’s expertise could be worth it.
