Lortan Golf was founded by Michael Lortan in 2018, inspired by his wife’s exceptional improvement from his teachings. He’s a USGTF-certified golf teacher, which is great because members of the federation have access to up-to-date training methods.

He teaches golfers of all levels, from newbies to seasoned players, helping them develop their skills through multiple golf lesson formats, including a beginner program, on-course instruction, and two-student sessions.

What we love is that he provides a video analysis to reinforce concepts and track your swing progress over time. This approach removes the guesswork from traditional coaching and leads to more targeted improvements.

However, some students said they had to bring their own left-handed golf clubs because Michael doesn’t have any.

“Scratch golf club is elite. I’ve been a member since they opened and Tommy truly made something special here. I’ve never had any trouble booking a bay and every member I’ve encountered has been top class. The trackman sims work great and there are plenty of courses and games to try out making each visit unique. Tommy has setup some great perks like custom lessons, closest to the pin challenges, and discounts at the neighboring businesses. I live about 10 minutes away and have always found a solid (free) parking spot when I visit. Definitely recommend signing up.”

Tin Can Golf Instruction started in 2017 by Nathan Tyler, who wanted to share his passion for golf. His coaching emphasizes the enjoyment of the sport, making every session a fun learning experience.

His offerings are adult and junior golf programs, coaching children, teenagers, and grown-ups, regardless of whether they’ve played golf before. He also provides playing lessons for those who want to improve their actual in-game performance.

If you want to learn with your friends, take advantage of the group lesson option for up to four students.

Beyond his programs, we were impressed by his club-fitting service. He helps customize golf clubs to your unique swing characteristics and physique.

That said, he’s quite popular, and some students said it took a long time to secure a slot.

Before anything else, they’ll assess your physical capabilities and the amount of time you’re willing to practice. Then, they’ll craft a realistic, personalized game plan.

One thing to improve is their customer service. Some students reported that their representatives sometimes don’t answer calls.

Robert McMillan, the founder, has been a PGA-certified golf professional for over 25 years. He bagged the 2018 NTPGA Player Development Award, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to growing the sport by promoting player retention.

He and his fellow instructors coach golfers of all ages and skill levels, providing in-depth training and swing analysis for both beginners and professionals. 

While they train all willing students, their specialty is teaching juniors. They’re known for their work with junior golfers through their “Golf is Cool After School” program, making them the perfect choice for your child.

However, we’ve heard that it can be difficult to secure a slot because they fill up quickly.
