Pros

  • Great food
  • Attentive service
  • Casual atmosphere
  • Variety of cocktails

Cons

  • Long wait list

Maple Leaf is a Canadian-themed diner that offers excellent food, an amazing atmosphere, and a variety of cocktails to choose from.

The biggest attraction here is Canadian cuisine. Owner Michael Delaurier is an experienced restauranter hailing from Canada.

He brought all the knowledge and techniques honed in his hometown all the way down south for an authentic Canadian brunch experience.

Its poutine is arguably its most popular dish. Regulars seemingly enjoy the blend of its homemade gravy’s richness and the fries’ saltiness.

Of course, what’s brunch without alcohol? Luckily, Maple Leaf Diner offers a variety of cocktails to choose from.

One cocktail we enjoyed was its mimosa. It complemented the Canadian dishes quite well.

In addition to the great food and drinks, the casual atmosphere while dining is a treat. It gives the diners the cozy experience prevalent in the best brunch places in the state.

To wrap it all up, the customer service is excellent. Rarely did customers go out of their way for the crew to notice them.

However, there are some drawbacks, namely the long waitlist. The place is jam-packed during peak hours, so make sure to get an early reservation if you’re planning to visit for brunch.

Pros

  • Great food
  • Amazing atmosphere
  • Personable staff
  • Outdoor dining

Cons

  • High price range
  • Long waitlist

Ellen’s serves your favorite southern classics inside a modern and vibrant interior. Its recipes are original yet familiar.

The big thing that stands out in Ellen’s is the food. Its menu is filled with southern favorites like omelets, pancakes, waffles, and more.

Inside is a vibrant modern take on diners. The lighting and overall ambiance of the place are luxurious, without losing the comfortable Sunday morning brunch vibes we all came for.

And if the weather is nice enough, you can dine on its patios outside. This gives you a great outdoor view to enjoy with your eggs and coffee for a more intimate brunch experience.

Ellen’s is open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. So if you’re craving some pancakes and mimosa during the night, it’s there for you!

Lastly, the staff is quite accommodating and friendly. They are professional and fun to interact with, making the place feel closer to home.

One big drawback, however, is how pricey the food is. Its pancake pot pie is priced at $15, for example.

Although, for the quality and taste, it’s definitely worth it.

In addition to the price, the waitlist is quite long. This is to be expected of an in-demand place like Ellen’s, so be sure to make reservations early!

Pros

  • Cheap prices
  • Long business hours
  • Great ambiance
  • Attentive service

Cons

  • Food could be improved
  • Long waitlist

If you’re looking for a traditional and cheap brunch place, then Oddfellows might be for you. This place gives its diner’s an escape from the hustle and bustle of their working lives for a nostalgic and intimate dining experience.

The food in Oddfellows consists of classic breakfast food such as avocado toast, a short-stacked pancake, and chicken and waffles — each one sold at a reasonably cheap price.

In addition, Oddfellows serves dinner as well. Starting at 5:00 PM, it shifts to its dinner menu, which offers a variety of dishes, all equally as good as the breakfast menu.

The ambiance inside is a traditional American diner with its own modern flare. From the lighting to the furniture, everything is reminiscent of the diners we grew up eating in.

However, the food doesn’t match the ambiance. We feel as though the flavors of some of its dishes can be improved as they sometimes come out bland and flavorless.

It certainly matches the cheaper prices it offers compared to other brunch places.

Lastly, a place this good will always have a long wait list, most notably during its morning hours. Thankfully, making a reservation at Oddfellows is hassle-free as the staff is quite accommodating!

Pros

  • Great food with a diverse menu
  • Authentic French cuisine
  • Parisian atmosphere
  • Patio dining
  • Unique cocktails

Cons

  • Long waitlist during brunch hours
  • Small food portions

A European contemporary bistro located in the heart of Dallas Texas, Mercat Bistro is a unique brunch experience. This place is a great alternative to the classic brunch offerings found in Dallas.

One of the things that separate Mercat Bistro from the rest is its French cuisine. Foreign dishes such as its duck baguette are one of many to try.

And if you’re not feeling too adventurous, it still has familiar dishes like eggs benedict as well as steaks and eggs.

Not to be outdone by the food, most of its cocktails also originate from France. One sip of its La Vie En Rose is sure to energize you throughout the entire day!

We highly recommend trying its Péché Mignon, a fruity cocktail consisting of orange juice and sangria. Customers have also noted it’s one of the must-try cocktails Mercat has to offer.

The interior of Mercat Bistro is a sight to see. It has a rustic European design that seemingly transports the customers to France itself.

And if the weather permits it, you can dine outside on the patio. It’s a perfect place to sit down and chat it up with your family!

A big downside to Mercat Bistro is its food portioning. As a European-themed bistro, the food size isn’t quite up to par with American portions.

Pros

  • Huge dining space both indoors and outdoors
  • An array of food and drinks to choose from
  • Great overall atmosphere
  • Live music at night

Cons

  • Too crowded at times
  • Slow customer service when full

If you’re looking for a full-blown party for brunch, then The Rustic has you covered. This place is the complete package as it has great food, an exciting ambiance, entertainment, and more!

Brunch at The Rustic is served family-style at $17.95 per person. Though the choices are limited, the flavor each dish packs certainly make up for it.

And if you’re in a festive mood, it has an array of cocktails and beverages to choose from. The Rustic has all the classic brunch cocktails like mimosa, bloody mary, and sangria.

However, the whole appeal of The Rustic lies in its ambiance and atmosphere. The place is huge and usually full during the weekend, giving it a nice and merrymaking mood.

During the night, it also has live music you can enjoy with family and friends! And the variety of music performed means every night has a different vibe.

The only downside to The Rustic is it gets too crowded at times. And while its staff does a great job at serving each customer, it might take time to account for each one.

Overall, the experience and allure of The Rustic certainly warrant the hype. It’s a popular go-to in Dallas for a reason.
