    Pros

    • Coffee is brewed perfectly
    • Cozy atmosphere
    • Located inside a hotel
    • Professional staff

    Cons

    • A bit expensive
    • Not enough selection of coffee

If you’re looking for a great cup of coffee paired with a cozy atmosphere, then look no further than Weekend Coffee. Needless to say, it’s one of the fastest-rising coffee shops in Dallas.

When we went to the establishment, the first thing that stood out was the atmosphere and decor. Situated inside a hotel, there was a professional yet comfortable vibe inside as customers were either working, chitchatting, or reading a book.

We tried out one of its coffee, and there and then we knew what the hype was all about. The aroma was incredible and enough to fuel you for a day, and the taste was strong, yet not too bitter.

The staff was also incredibly pleasant to chat with. The waitress that served our order was super polite and kept apologizing for the delay, which wasn’t even that long!

One drawback we did see was the price of its coffee. If you’re looking for a quick coffee to-go, then the prices here might not be worth it.

We also weren’t impressed with the selection of coffee and beverages. The menu definitely had all the essentials, but it was missing unique flavors that can separate it from its competitors.

However, the atmosphere and overall experience are where your money’s going. If you simply want a nice refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city, Weekend Coffee’s an excellent choice.

    Pros

    • An array of coffee to choose from
    • Tasty desserts
    • Great place to work
    • Well-designed interior

    Cons

    • Expensive coffee

Merit Coffee Co. is one of the best coffee shops in Dallas. Most of its regulars credit its success to its consistency and at-home vibe and atmosphere.

When we visited Merit Coffee, the first thing that hit us was the well-designed interior paired with the aroma of coffee. It had a nostalgic feeling, similar to visiting your grandparents during the weekend.

The menu was also excellent as it has an array of coffee, beverages, and desserts to choose from. We couldn’t settle for one order, so we went overboard and tried four coffees and a couple of desserts.

Simply put, the coffee was excellent and deserves praise. It had a strong aroma and an overall splendid taste that left us wanting more.

As for the dessert, we couldn’t help but giggle when we saw Pop-Tarts on the menu.

We all know how good Pop-Tarts are, but paired with coffee? Remarkable.

Looking around, we noticed how many people were working inside the shop. It was a perfect spot to work as the Wi-Fi was fast, the reception was excellent, and the place was quiet and spacious enough.

The only downside we noticed was the prices, as it’s definitely not cheap. Some of the regulars we talked to even mentioned how they would visit more often if not for the prices.

    3. Fiction Coffee

    Pros

    • Tasty pastries
    • Professional atmosphere
    • Excellent customer service
    • Cheap coffee
    • Long hours

    Cons

    • Coffee is either a hit or miss

Let’s face it, not everyone has the luxury of getting to-go coffee each day. Thankfully, Fiction Coffee is there for your caffeinated needs!

When we talked to a regular, the first thing they mentioned was the price. They said the prices were “incredibly cheap” and “too good to be true”.

The day we visited the establishment was quite a busy one, as the place was packed with customers.

We noticed how formal and professional the interior was, and how it seemingly attracted working adults, as there weren’t any groups of friends inside.

Looking at the menu, the prices of the coffee immediately jumped at us. It really was cheap, going for as low as $4–what a bargain!

We had a difficult time choosing our drinks, so the waitress suggested some of the popular coffees they serve. It was a nice and professional gesture, and it didn’t feel as though she did it simply to rush us.

While we’re here, we figured to sample some of the pastries on its menu. And oh boy we’re so glad we did, as they were moist, delicious, and cheap!

If we were to nitpick, some of the coffee missed in terms of taste. Some were a bit too bitter for our taste, while others were a tad too sweet.

Overall, we highly recommend Fiction Coffee if you want a cheap coffee to-go. The shop itself is also worth visiting if you’re looking for a space to work or catch up with friends.

    Pros

    • Great selection of coffee
    • Quality pastries
    • Perfectly brewed coffee
    • Online delivery
    • Amazing interior and atmosphere

    Cons

    • Expensive coffee

Sip Stir Coffee House is one of the fastest-rising coffee shops in Dallas. The surge in popularity comes from its great selection of coffee, quality pastries, and excellent atmosphere.

When we visited the store, we immediately took notice of the interior and overall atmosphere of the place. It’s different from the neighboring coffee shops as it was dimly lit and romantic, similar to restaurants.

The selection of coffee was also a surprise as it seemingly had everything from frappes, cappuccinos, cold and hot brew, and more — all with different flavors. It doesn’t matter how you like your coffee because chances are, this place has it.

Of course, the taste is what matters and this place also delivered on that end. The coffee had a distinct nutty taste and it was so good we just had to go for seconds.

It also had a nice selection of pastries to complement the coffee. We couldn’t try all of them, but we did get a chance to talk to one customer who mentioned that every pastry served was top-notch.

Not a lot of coffee shops offer online delivery, but this place does. And while the priority is to serve the customers present in the shop, the staff does a great job of getting the online orders out as quickly as they can.

If you’re willing to overlook the steep price point, then the Sip Stir Coffee House is worth the visit. It’s a different experience from the coffee shops we’re all used to, and the coffee is exquisite.

    Pros

    • Great coffee
    • Cool and unique interior/atmosphere
    • Cheap coffee
    • Fast and attentive baristas
    • Long hours

    Cons

    • Staff can be a bit rude

LDU Coffee To Go prides itself as one of the fastest and easiest ways to get coffee. It has pushed all the right buttons when it comes to takeout coffees and we’re here for it.

As its tagline suggests, this shop wants to bring your coffee as fast as possible. When we asked the baristas why, they said it’s because not everyone has the luxury of time when it comes to coffee, and we agree.

The coffees were great as they nailed the balance when it comes to bitterness and sweetness. They say that a good cup of coffee in the morning is a warm embrace — well, this one is a full-on bear hug.

It’s not only quick and perfectly blended, but the coffee is also quite cheap. For example, the Americano is priced at $3.50, which is slightly cheaper than its average of $4.00.

If you’re in no rush, however, you can stay inside its gorgeous establishment. It has a throwback design with the brick countertop as well as modern inspirations such as the hanging lights.

We personally didn’t experience it, but some customers have mentioned that the staff can be quite rude. There were reports of customers getting passive-aggressive responses for requesting the Wi-Fi password or asking if they have certain types of coffee.
