The 10 Best Restaurants in Dallas That’ll Make Other Parts of Your Body Jealous of Your Tummy

Although we’re not financially up there, my family tries to eat out every now and then. Not to splurge or flaunt, but to taste flavors we don’t often get at home.

We’ve done this for quite some time, and have practically been to every restaurant you can name in the area.

So I’m sharing my list of the best restaurants in Dallas that left a lasting impression. They figuratively and literally bring something to the table!

1. The Woolworth Restaurant and Cocktail Bar

  • Tuesday to Thursday: 11 AM to 11 PM
  • Friday: 11 AM to 12 AM
  • Saturday: 10 AM to 11 PM

Must-Order: Crab Nachos

The Woolworth Restaurant and Cocktail Bar is a complete package: amazing food, great drinks, and an awesome view of downtown (it’s both a rooftop bar and restaurant!).

They have lots of shared plates and entrees, as well as handcrafted cocktails, making them a great destination for a night of chit-chat and fun with friends.

My favorite—which happens to be one of their bestsellers—is the Crab Nachos, a dish of blue crab served with taro chips and four kinds of condiments. It’s a truly unique eat; you won’t often see nachos topped with fresh blue crab meat!

Pro Tip:

For drinkers, visit during their weekday happy hour, from 4 PM to 6 PM.

2. The Hampton Social – Dallas

  • Friday: 11:30 AM to 12 AM
  • Saturday: 10 AM to 12 AM
  • Sunday: 10 AM to 10 PM

Must-Order: Lobster Roll

The Hampton Social is an American restaurant that serves coastal-inspired cuisine. It brings a summer atmosphere with Instagrammable ocean-themed decorations.

This trendy three-story hangout spot features a rooftop dining area with sweeping views of the skyline and city streets around the Main Street District. Just make a reservation in advance, as it fills up quickly.

We love feasting on either their Manhattan- or Maine-style Lobster Roll. But believe me when I tell you that you shouldn’t sleep on the Manhattan-inspired version. It’s a butter-based roll that’s hard to find in a mayo-favored country like America.

Pro Tip:

Check out their official website for promotions and upcoming events, such as live music nights.

3. Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: 11 AM to 10 PM

Must-Order: Buffalo Filet Mignon

If you’re craving a premium-quality steak, Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse is, without a doubt, the place to be. The Dallas Morning News declared them the best steakhouse in DFW for four consecutive years, and The Food Network dubbed them “one of the nation’s finest steakhouses.”

The perfectly grilled Buffalo Filet Mignon is The Food Network’s favorite, and you’ll know why once you taste it. It’s a great alternative to beef filet, known for its tenderness, perfect sear, and subtly gamey notes amplified by a secret spice blend.

Pair it with either one of their whites or reds, and you’ll surely have a great dining experience.

Pro Tip:

For a more memorable experience, try other dishes from their extensive wild game selection, including elk, wild boar, venison, quail, and antelope.

4. Chet’s Dallas

Must-Order: Irish Stew

Chet’s team takes pride in serving bold versions of Irish-American comfort food, bringing those nostalgic classics to the table. This is our go-to restaurant every time we want to eat home-style dishes outside our home.

Ordering their Irish Stew is a must (believe me!). The big chunks of roast beef are tender, and the vegetables are cooked just right. The stew’s flavor pairs well with the mashed potatoes.

What’s even cooler is that their happy hour specials last for seven hours, starting from 11 AM to 6 PM. You can drink a bottle of beer for $4, a glass of wine for $5, or a classic cocktail for $6.

Pro Tip:

For football fans, Chet’s is a popular viewing destination for the FIFA World Cup, known for its big-screen TVs and high-energy crowd.

5. Rj Mexican Cuisine

Must-Order: Blackened Shrimp & Crawfish

Rj Mexican Cuisine is a cozy and unpretentious eatery that blends Texas flavors with Mexican techniques. They put their hearts into giving every dish a touch of unexpected flavor, believing that “each bite should involve all of our senses and tastes.”

During our first visit, I asked one of the crew members for suggestions, and he recommended the Blackened Shrimp & Crawfish as a starter. It was very well seasoned on a bed of red rice with habanero sauce.

For drinks, their Mojitos get a lot of praise, with some even saying that it’s the best in the city.

Pro Tip:

Don’t forget to check out their daily lunch specials to find out which day your preferred meal is available at a discounted price.

Must-Order: Beef Ribs

Owned by a family from Lockhart, Texas (the city’s barbecue capital), Terry Black’s Barbecue brings generations of wisdom to the Dallas food scene.

One of the crowd-favorites is the Beef Ribs, so I gave it a try — and I didn’t regret it. It was perfectly seasoned and incredibly juicy. The portion size was huge, too — one rib was big enough to share.

But if you want to make the most of your money, go for one of their family packs, good for five to twelve people.

Pro Tip:

Try The Terry Black’s BBQ Experience, a one-hour insider’s look at how their pit masters fire up barbecue.

7. Rodeo Goat

  • Friday and Saturday: 11 AM to 11 PM

Must-Order: Nanny Goat

Rodeo Goat has a long list of tasty, towering burgers that you can devour alone or with a loved one. You can either order via DoorDash or enjoy eating at their spacious patio.

I highly recommend their Nanny Goat burger. It’s a herb goat cheese in a brioche bun mixed with bibb lettuce, beefsteak tomato, onion, garlic-herb mayo, and house-ground beef patty. The juicy beef pairs well with the earthy and tangy goat cheese.

For a unique experience, you can even have your burgers in a bowl on a bed of lettuce.

Pro Tip:

If the Market Center Boulevard spot is packed, you can also check out the branches in Design District, Casa Linda, and Cypress Waters.

8. Bellatrino Pizzeria

Must-Order: Four Cheese Pizza

Bellatrino Pizzeria is a pizza lover’s paradise. They’re passionate about making Neopolitan pizzas that embody the essence of Italian culinary traditions. With almost 20 unique pizza offerings, every visit here presents a new adventure for your palate.

If, like me, you have a deep appreciation for cheese, their Four Cheese Pizza is a no-brainer. It’s a blend of creamy mozzarella, a salty touch of pecorino, a buttery fontina, and a tangy provolone.

While they serve excellent pizza, you shouldn’t miss out on their other dishes, particularly the pastas and salads.

Pro Tip:

Because they’re located in The Market at the Dallas Farmers Market, expect a large crowd when you visit, even during off-peak hours.

9. rise

Address: 5360 W Lovers Ln #220

Contact Details:

Operating Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday: 11 AM to 9 PM
  • Friday and Saturday: 11 AM to 10 PM

Must-Order: Marshmallow Soup

rise is a relaxed bistro that has been around since 2008. They specialize in serving the soufflé, a French egg dish from the early 18th century, aiming to turn a simple egg into something enjoyable.

The dish I really like is Marshmallow Soup, a creamy carrot-tomato bisque topped with fluffy goat cheese soufflés that look like marshmallows (hence, the name). It’s often drizzled with pesto and served with a breadstick.

Their French press coffee pairs perfectly with any soufflé. But if you’re not a coffee person, they also have iced tea, lemonade, and softdrinks.

Pro Tip:

Browse their online shop for merchandise like glassware, ceramics, torchons, and even books.

10. Ocean Prime

Friday and Saturday: 4 PM to 10 PM

Must-Order: Lobster Bisque

Ocean Prime is a sophisticated seafood restaurant just across the Rosewood Crescent Hotel in Uptown Dallas. This is where we head to when we feel a bit bougie.

One of their popular meals is the Lobster Bisque. It has multiple chunks of butter-poached lobster in one serving, making it an excellent starter before a full meal. Most guests will tell you it’s one of the best soups they’ve ever had.

The restaurant can also serve as a venue for events. They have four private dining rooms for small get-togethers, as well as a temperature-controlled enclosed terrace that can sit 100 people.

Pro Tip:

A Dinner For Two Special Menu is available every Sunday to Thursday, perfect for a date night with your partner.
