This suggests that while there are certainly some challenges to driving in Dallas, its ranking indicates that it is a city with a higher-than-average risk for drivers. 

That being said, there are some factors that can increase the risk of accidents in Dallas. One of the biggest is distracted driving, which is a problem throughout the state of Texas. 

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, there were over 100,000 crashes in the state in 2019 that were caused by distracted driving. This can include things like texting while driving, eating, or even just talking on the phone. 

While there are laws in place to discourage distracted driving, it remains a significant issue on Dallas roads.

Another aspect of Dallas that can make it challenging to navigate is its size. The city covers over 385 square miles, making it one of the largest cities in the United States. 

As a result, it can take quite a while to get from one end of the city to the other. If you’re planning to explore different parts of Dallas, it’s a good idea to plan your route in advance and use a GPS or map to help you get around.

Why are there so many car accidents in Dallas? 

Dallas has a growing population, heavy traffic, distracted driving, and a significant issue with alcohol and drug use while driving.
