5 Best Photography Studios in Dallas for Picture-Perfect Results

Lighting Quality: I checked whether the lighting actually flatters the shot. Big windows, clean backdrops, and solid studio lights scored extra points.

Sets and Equipment: I looked for gear that saves me from hauling half my studio across Dallas. C-stands, movable walls, changing areas, and client lounges all helped.

Pricing and Booking Policies: I favored studios that keep rates and add-ons easy to understand. Clear overtime, deposit, and cleanup rules mattered too.

Creative Flexibility: I checked whether each space could handle more than one type of shoot. The best ones work just as well for portraits, branding, video, and small creative sessions.

I’ve been looking for a good headshot photographer who can make me look polished without giving me that stiff corporate ID-card vibe. Naturally, that sent me hunting down the best photography studio in Dallas.

In a city this image-conscious, good lighting and a photographer who knows how to put you at ease matter. I want a setup where I can relax, stop overthinking my face, and let the camera do its job.

Some studios go sleek and editorial, while others feel warmer and more approachable. Here are some Dallas photography studios I’d seriously consider for my next headshot session.

How much does a photography studio cost in Dallas?

Photography studio rentals in Dallas usually cost $50 to $175 per hour. Premium production spaces can reach $250+ per hour.

Full-service shoots cost more because a photographer is included. Headshot sessions generally run $225 to $695, while portrait sessions often cost $250 to $500+.

Budget and headshot studio rentals usually cost $50 to $75 per hour. Mid-range and natural-light studios are closer to $70 to $100 per hour.

Premium studios and production houses typically charge $125 to $250+ per hour. Retro or throwback sessions can start at around $30.

Extras can raise the final price. Studio lighting may cost about $50, while hair and makeup can add $60 to $400.

Some studios charge cleaning fees for excessive messes or damage. These can start at around $100.

1. Nuovo Artistic Studios Dallas

Website

Address: 150 Turtle Creek Blvd. Suite 103

Contact: (469) 484-4858

Schedule: Daily, 9 AM – 9 PM

I’m not exactly a natural in front of the camera, so I like that Nuovo Artistic Studios Dallas doesn’t expect you to arrive knowing your best angle.

Its all-female team guides you through poses and keeps the session focused on flattering, artistic portraits.

The studio offers both bright high-key setups with chiffon and moodier black-backdrop looks with red silk.

I like that you get to review your images right after the shoot instead of waiting days to see how everything turned out. That instant feedback makes choosing favorites much easier.

The studio also does retouching, which removes temporary blemishes while leaving permanent features like tattoos and birthmarks intact.

The main catch is that Nuovo leans heavily toward artistic and semi-nude portraiture rather than traditional corporate headshots.

Also, average client spending is around $1,500, so it’s better suited to someone planning a full portrait experience than a quick LinkedIn refresh.

Pros

  • All-female studio team
  • Hands-on posing guidance
  • Multiple artistic setups
  • Thoughtful, natural-looking retouching
  • Same-day image viewing

Cons

  • Geared more toward artistic portraits than headshots
  • Average spend is around $1,500

Makeup and Photography Nailed

Oh my goodness! I can’t rave enough about my experience here! Channing absolutely slayed my makeup; it was EXACTLY what I wanted! & Kate’s photography skills were on point! Her energy & expertise are top-notch! Both of their personalities shine so bright, and you can tell they love what they do! I’m so thankful to both of them (and everyone else in the studio) for being so warm and welcoming!

Comfortable Posing and Great Makeup

Love, Love, Love the service and photography. Rhyan was my makeup artist & she did a GREAT job! I’m African American, so I was concerned with how my makeup would turn out, but she did a GREAT job. Sheva was my photographer and was awesome! She guided me through the poses and made me feel super comfortable! Love this studio!

2. The Space on South Side

Schedule: Monday, noon – 8 PM | Tuesday-Sunday, 8 AM – 8 PM

I’m picky about studios that look good online but feel flat once you’re actually shooting. The Space on South Side feels more useful than gimmicky, which I appreciate.

Downstairs is the setup I’d reach for first, with big windows, movable backdrops, and mid-century furniture that doesn’t scream rental studio.

Upstairs is moodier, with exposed brick, wood floors, and a boudoir setup that gives you a completely different look.

I like that you can squeeze several visual styles out of one location without wasting time changing venues. The repeat-booking discounts make even more sense if this becomes one of your regular spots.

My main gripe is that the bigger upstairs furniture can’t be moved, which limits how much you can reshape the room.

Book just one floor and you may share the building, while full-studio rentals start around $175 per hour with a three-hour minimum.

Pros

  • Two distinct studio looks
  • Plenty of natural light
  • Movable backdrops downstairs
  • Good for headshots, branding, and editorial shoots
  • Repeat-booking discounts available

Cons

  • Large upstairs furniture can’t be moved
  • One-floor bookings may not be fully private
  • Full-studio rental has a three-hour minimum

Perfect Studio for Photography

The Space on South Side is the perfect studio for all of your photography needs! It’s always clean, and there are so many props to choose from to give you the look you’re trying to achieve. Emily is quick to respond to any questions or concerns, and she’s always updating inventory with fresh items. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Light and Last-Minute Booking

Great studio for portrait photography. The studio manager is very responsive. I needed a place to shoot last minute due to a last-minute cancellation from another studio. The Space on Southside had an opening and made the process seamless. The light in the studio is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to come back!

3. The Light Loft

Address: 2030 Main St Suite 420B

Contact: [email protected] | Book via website

Schedule: Sunday, 7 AM – 11 PM | Monday-Thursday, 8 AM – 10 PM | Friday-Saturday, 7 AM – 11 PM

The moment I see giant windows and backdrops I don’t have to wrestle into place, I’m interested. The Light Loft feels like the kind of studio where I could walk in with a shot list and get moving fast.

The Bright Loft is where I’d start for crisp headshots or branding photos that need to look polished without feeling stiff. The Dark Loft is the fun switch-up, with limewash walls, wood slats, and vintage touches that bring more personality.

I’d happily take the private changing room too, because outfit changes have a way of turning into a small production. Having two distinct looks in one place makes the whole shoot feel far less repetitive.

My only hesitation is the rulebook, since glitter, confetti, cake smashes, body oils, and pets are banned.

Street noise can sneak in as well, so I wouldn’t make this my first pick for a dialogue-heavy video.

Pros

  • Bright and dark studio options
  • Large windows and tall ceilings
  • Motorized seamless backdrops
  • RGB light and softbox included
  • Private changing room
  • Great for headshots and branding shoots

Cons

  • No glitter, confetti, cake smashes, body oils, or pets
  • Street noise may affect audio-heavy shoots

Stunning Studio for Small Business Photos

INCREDIBLE! This studio is absolutely stunning. It is everything my small business’s team could have dreamed of! Ricardo was super kind and very easy to work with in terms of scheduling and communication! I was a little hesitant about the area and feeling safe, but the building has locks on almost every entrance, so my team and I felt very comfortable! Our photos turned out so, so beautiful! Ricardo, we LOVE your studio! Thank you for having us!

Natural-Light Boudoir Studio

The Light Loft was perfect for my studio boudoir shoot! The aesthetic was super natural and boho, which I loved! The owners do a remarkable job of keeping the studio clean and clutter-free! There’s an entire wall of windows, which just gave the best lighting! I will definitely be back again for more shoots and am eager to try their sister spaces, The Dark Loft and The Red Loft!!!

4. The TX Studio

Website

Address: 1300 S Polk St Suite #175

Contact: (619) 839-9176 | (817) 857-8215

Schedule: Sunday-Saturday, 8 AM – 8 PM

I like studios where the light does some of the work for me. The TX Studio delivers with two spaces that shine at different times of day.

Studio I gets soft southern light and warm afternoon sun. Studio II is better for crisp morning shots.

Both include rolling flats, seamless paper, C-stands, reflectors, steamers, and mirrors. That means less gear to drag in yourself.

I especially like Studio II’s load-in dock and client seating. Extras like Profoto flashes, haze, and an Oliphant backdrop add more creative range.

The catch is the strict no-nudity policy, including implied and fine-art work. Bookings are also nonrefundable, and rescheduling comes with a fee.

Pros

  • Two studios with different natural-light strengths
  • Useful grip gear included
  • Rolling flats and seamless backdrops
  • Load-in dock in Studio II
  • Specialty gear available as add-ons

Cons

  • No implied or fine-art nudity
  • Bookings are nonrefundable
  • Rescheduling comes with a fee

Reliable Studio for Photo and Video

I have been using The TX Studio for years and love the place. Easy to book, nice natural light on both sides (Studio I is more high key, Studio II is more moody). I usually bring my own strobe for accent lighting when desired, but the natural Light is so good you don’t really need that. Always clean and well equipped. Great for freelance work. I also have shot video there, and it was great, too. For that, I booked both studios as they recommended to make sure there was no background noise. Great place, good people!

Go-To Studio for Indoor Shoots

Absolutely love this studio! The TX Studio is probably my go-to for indoor shoots; I’ve shot here about 20 times. The place is always very clean & the staff is communicative from the start of your booking. I typically shoot here in the mornings to get that nice natural light, but honestly, anytime is amazing. I’d highly recommend shooting here if you’re looking for a place with great lighting and atmosphere.

5. Production House

Website

Address: 4731 Memphis St

Contact: (972) 978-1789

Schedule: Daily, 7 AM – 10 PM

I’m always relieved when a studio looks like it can handle my ambitious ideas without making me improvise everything on the fly. Production House gives me that confidence with a big cyc wall, natural light, and plenty of grip gear already on hand.

The 2,100-square-foot space gives you room to spread out without feeling boxed in. An east-facing glass garage door brings in natural light, while the lounge and 65-inch monitor make reviews easier.

I’d especially like having crew support available when a shoot starts getting bigger than expected. They can help source photographers, hair and makeup artists, art directors, and other production talent.

The catch is that professional lighting costs extra, and renters need proof of insurance. Payments are final too, while rescheduling requires notice and comes with a fee.

Pros

  • Large three-sided cyclorama wall
  • Natural-light shooting area
  • Plenty of grip gear included
  • Spacious 2,100-square-foot studio
  • Crew sourcing available
  • Lounge and 65-inch review monitor

Cons

  • Professional lighting costs extra
  • Proof of insurance required
  • Payments are final
  • Rescheduling comes with a fee

Photography Studio and Event Space

I love this studio! Not only is it used for photography, but the owner, Kelsey, let me host my baby shower here and was so accommodating. She even took pictures at my shower as well and was very responsive to my requests. You can tell the hard work that was put into this studio, and it’s even more pleasant that the customer service is there to match.

Well-Equipped Studio in Dallas

This space truly has everything you need and is right in the heart of Dallas. It’s been an amazing studio to work in—comfortable, well-equipped, and perfect for creative time, hair and makeup, and working with models. The Production House is thoughtfully set up, making long shoot days feel easy and seamless. Kelsey, the owner, is incredibly responsive and always available if you need anything. Highly recommend!
