6 Best Math Tutors in Dallas That Local Parents Wholeheartedly Swear By

  • Expertise: We chose math tutors with several years of teaching experience, as well as strong academic backgrounds in math, engineering, or related fields.
  • Personalized Approach: We went for math tutors who tailor their teaching methods to fit each student’s learning style and needs.
  • Availability: We picked tutors who offer flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend sessions, to accommodate students’ busy schedules.
  • Value for Money: We selected tutors that offer competitive pricing while delivering high-quality instruction.

A friend hired a pricey math tutor for her child, and she thought it was money well spent.

Nope—her child’s abysmal math grades remained the same. She learned the hard way that just because a math tutor charges more doesn’t guarantee results.

After switching to a more affordable math tutor who had a different teaching style, her daughter actually became the Captain of the Math Club! Okay, not really, but her daughter managed to pass all her math exams for the year—pretty cool, huh?

So, for those who need an extra boost when it comes to those pesky numbers, here are the best math tutors in Dallas.

Founded in the 1990s, Mathnasium was created to fill a gap in math education. Their goal is to teach kids how to think mathematically to succeed in school and life.

To help achieve their goal, they created The Mathnasium Method, an approach that addresses learning gaps, reinforces skills, and introduces new concepts step by step.

They first assess each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and then they create a customized learning plan.

3-Month Intro Courses are offered for younger students who want to learn addition & subtraction or multiplication & division. For high schoolers preparing for college, SAT and ACT prep are available, too.

And to keep math skills sharp over the summer, they host a Summer Math Program, using fun math activities.

The only catch is they’re not the cheapest option in Dallas.

Pros

  • Over 30 years of experience
  • The Mathnasium Method
  • Customized learning plans
  • 3-Month Intro Courses
  • SAT and ACT test prep
  • Summer Math Program

Cons

  • A bit pricey

Her math grades have significantly improved

Her confidence around math as improved and her mental math has improved as well. She never fights us on going and loves the prizes that she can “buy” with her cards there. We are pleased with the results and don’t plan on leaving Mathnasium anytime soon.” — Lindsay Hazard, Google Review

My kids’ growth in math has exceeded expectations

“Ms. Sarah is simply wonderful. She cares about each child’s learning and makes it fun for them. She has so much patience and is a wonderful educator. My kids also have done her summer camps, which run seamlessly. My kids’ growth in math has exceeded any expectations I had. Brought his grade in math from a C to an A

“Star Tutoring has been fantastic for my son. They brought his grade in math from a C to an A in a short time. We also had great summaries via text of the work and progress after each session. As a parent, I found these invaluable (teenage boys aren’t that informative!). I also thought Star’s communication and appointment reminders top notch. We like that they tailor their math lessons to fit each student’s needs—no cookie-cutter curricula here. You can find help with specific topics (e.g. algebra, geometry, fractions, etc.), or go with a program based on grade level.

Test prep is another plus—perfect for students gearing up for state or college entrance exams. And they even offer free learning resources, like worksheets and activities.

As a bonus, both in-person and online tutoring are available.

Budget-conscious parents should also keep an eye out for their online seasonal promos, where they can score up to 30% off tutoring services.

We’re just a bit concerned with what we’ve heard from former students. They found some tutors here to be less than motivational, or even a bit rude.
