Pros
- Fiber internet
- No data caps
- Stable internet
- Easily reachable
- Many discounts
- Flexible payment options
Cons
- Service may vary from location to location
- Jobs may take longer to process
Being one of the biggest cell phone and internet providers in North America, AT&T is for sure a trusted company.
Like most major telecommunication services, it offers fiber internet, which, for regular households, has speeds that can reach up to 5 gigabytes.
We recommend AT&T for some of the highest internet speeds available. Its internet is reliable enough for online classes, streaming, gaming, and more — even all at the same time.
Of course, being a well-known company also has its downsides. The service can vary from location to location and can either be really efficient or downright frustrating.
This is something most of its clients tend to have problems with. Nevertheless, its nationwide hotline can be called by customers at any time of the day.
Another great thing about choosing AT&T is the variety of payment options. It provides flexible plans which depend on the package customers choose.
It also offers AT&T prepaid for those that do not want to be tied down to a contract. By ordering the plan online, AT&T will waive the activation fee.
It also has big discounts for those eligible, like students, families below the poverty line, and more.
AT&T is also very transparent with its fees. There are no hidden charges, and every single cost will be explained.
Once everything is set up, there will rarely be interruptions to the internet. Keep in mind, however, that there have been instances of servicemen taking a while to process a job.
Regardless, AT&T is one of the safest options for installing internet connectivity in Dallas.
2. Frontier Communications
Services: Fiber internet, home phone plans, TV plans, residential internet provider
Address: 7979 N Belt Line Rd, Irving, TX 75063

Pros
- Fiber internet
- Cheap prices
- No activation fee
- No contract fee
- Next-day installation
Cons
- Service isn’t always reliable
- Only up to 2 Gbps
- Can only provide an internet connection to select areas
- Uninformed price hikes
Frontier Communications is one of the fastest internet providers in the area in terms of installation.
It is the only company that boasts a next-day installation. In comparison to the others, its internet is also one of the cheapest.
Frontier Communications’ internet plans can go as low as $10 for internet with 500 Mbps. One downside, however, is that it can only go as high as 2GBs.
The company employs other cost-saving methods like having no activation and contract fee, which is something we appreciate. It also bundles unlimited nationwide call services in one bill.
Despite having great customer service and a cheap price point, one downside can be the limited number of areas it provides services for. It only covers the Fort Worth area.
While Fort Worth is a big portion of Dallas, there are still some areas that aren’t provided for. This can be seen as a good thing since the company only needs to attend to a very limited number of people.
Another downside we’ve noticed is that Frontier Communications works on an autopay system and has had instances where customers were not informed of price hikes.
We recommend that customers using Frontier regularly check on payments made. Otherwise, it’s a great cheap alternative to the more popular providers.
3. Ellumnet

Pros
- Fiber internet
- Locally-owned business
- No data caps
- 24/7 customer service
- Secure internet
- Free consultation
- Pre-installation inspection
Cons
- Slow installation process
Customers looking for a highly-customizable internet connection should take a look at Ellumnet.
Located in the historic Ellum district, it covers most of Dallas and its surrounding towns. Being proudly local, the company offers hassle-free, fast internet to its city.
Not only is it a widely used internet provider for residents but also for commercial businesses in Dallas.
Whether commercial or residential, its clients can enjoy a lack of data caps, 24/7 customer service, and secure internet connectivity.
As Dallas is a bustling city with many events, Ellumnet also provides short-form contracts to keep everyone connected from small parties to music festivals.
One of the things we like about Ellumnet is its home inspections. Once a customer has settled on using Ellumnet, it will provide a free consultation and inspection to see which plan is best suited for them.
Customer service does this to plan out where to put wires and the modem for the best efficiency.
Careful and efficient planning does have some setbacks. One of these is that the service can take some time because servicemen have to plan everything out properly.
Despite being cheap and dependable, the internet speeds can only go up to 1000mbps, one of the lowest fiber options available.
If you’re looking for a local and reliable internet service provider, then we recommend Ellumnet. This is, however, not suited for those that want a quick installation process.

- Can cater to large business like warehouses
- Located in downtown Dallas
- Fiber internet
- Transparent terms and conditions
- Private network
- No data caps
Cons
- Does not provide internet connections to residential areas
- Fees are not available online
- Maintenance concerns from time to time
Customers who own businesses will likely find North Texas Fiber the best company to get internet services from. Being one of the only internet service providers for businesses, it does its job well.
It is a locally founded company based in North Dallas that provides internet to companies like Mcdonald’s chains and Home Depot, and everything in between.
This means that, in terms of physical size, North Fiber Texas can provide an internet connection to small and big businesses alike.
Of course, one downside to this is that it does not offer its services to residential areas.
The company is located in downtown Dallas, a commercial hub that’s perfect for any thriving business.
According to former clients, the internet is reliable, save for a few maintenance concerns.
Otherwise, its service is also fast, especially during installation. North Texas Fiber has a free consultation policy to check how its technicians would install the internet.
One thing we like about choosing North Texas Fiber is user transparency. Those interested can check its website to read its Subscriber Agreement as well as its Terms and Conditions.
The prices, however, aren’t shown on its website. Future clients will have to schedule a meeting with the company to get the internet rates.
In terms of security, it offers a private network, which means businesses do not share data capacity with other nearby clients.
It also provides internet without data caps, which is something we think is really important.
All in all, this is a great place for businesses that need internet providers.

Another nationwide company, Spectrum is a well-known telecommunications corporation that offers a fiber internet connection.
It has many locations in Dallas and provides for most cities and its surrounding areas, making it readily available to those who need it.
A downside to subscribing to a well-known company such as this is that the consistency in service may not always be there.
According to former customers, customer service is polite and responsive, though there may be an occasional rude service member.
The company has flexible plans for households that use a lot of devices, like adding a discounted rate and unlimited data plans for phones.
Spectrum offers three speeds at different prices. Starting at $49.99, there are the 300 Mbps, the 500 Mbps, and finally, the 1 Gbps plan.
We really like how despite only offering 3 speeds, it keeps payment plans simple and without hidden charges or data caps.
Its prices lean more on the expensive side but are offset by its great service and reliability.
By calling customer service, there are also flexible payment options with varying internet speeds depending on your location.
One thing we really like about Spectrum is that its customer services hotline is up 24/7, answering any queries you might have.
The internet itself is stable enough. Spectrum promotes its 1 Gigabit fiber internet that’s perfect for streaming, gaming, downloading, and more.
According to customers, its internet is barely down, save for a few maintenance issues here and there. Opt into Spectrum if you want stable internet with a quick installation.
