Founder Mathew Joseph is a Texas-licensed Professional Engineer with structural and forensic experience. I’d consider RSH for a foundation concern that might turn into a larger repair or remodel.

If the city stops your project, RSH offers engineering evaluations, documentation, and communication with officials. 

For load-bearing wall removal, its team can design the replacement beam and handle installation, or provide the design alone. 

The catch is that real-time consultations have a minimum charge, even if you’ve only got a quick question. 

Regular office hours also end Saturday, though RSH advertises emergency inspections outside those hours.

The firm investigates damage, too, from foundation movement to storm-related problems. I like that it can pair its findings with repair designs, so the next step doesn’t start with a guessing game.

Evergreen replies to project submittals within one business day and can typically start within a week. 

That’s useful when you’re trying to keep an architect and contractor on the same schedule, though it isn’t a promised date for finished plans.

The catch is that it’s an engineering consultancy, so you’ll need a contractor to carry out the work. If you want one company to design and build your remodel, you’ll have another team to coordinate.

Principal engineer Tommy LaLonde brings more than 28 years of structural and soil mechanics experience, according to the firm. Thomas doesn’t sell foundation repairs or work with repair crews, so its assessment comes without a repair sales pitch.

The team measures relative floor elevations and checks for signs of stress inside and outside the home. 

Its Level B investigation informs a tailored report that can help you decide what needs attention and get contractors quoting on the same recommendations.

However, if repairs are needed, you’ll have to hire a separate contractor to carry them out. That means another team to schedule and coordinate after the engineering work is done.

I like its budget-conscious approach. The firm says it works around a client’s constraints instead of defaulting to an overbuilt design. 

Its licensed engineers prepare structural calculations and stamped drawings for building department submission.

Elora handles foundation concerns, too. Its engineers check for settlement, drainage issues, and moisture intrusion before recommending what needs attention.

Do note that the firm’s regular hours run Monday through Friday, so weekend consultations aren’t on the schedule. Its focus is also on residential and light commercial work instead of large industrial projects.
