Planning to relocate the entire family to Dallas-Fort Worth but aren’t sure where to purchase a new home yet?

Dallas-Fort Worth offers residents an interesting mixed ambiance of cosmopolitan life and classic Texan cowboy. Wherever you decide to settle down, you can find dozens of trendy local bars, retail shops, spas, and hair salons to visit that are sure to satisfy your curiosity.

Nevertheless, there are some areas of the city that far outshine the others in terms of livability. Below are some of the best places to live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Cottonwood Creek South (Richardson)

Cottonwood Creek South is one of the best neighborhoods to live in Richardson –  a small city located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

It has a population density of 5,680 people and a median rental cost of about $1,900. They also have several accredited public and private schools that are perfect for developing children.

This makes them a perfect place for people who are looking for a more urban feel for their homes.

You can find loads of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks in the area. There are also several dog daycares for all the fur parents.

Crime rates are incredibly low here at Cottonwood Creek South. Statistics from Neighborhood Scout say that your chances of being a victim of crime in Richardson is 1 to 756.

Preston Highlands (Dallas)

With a population of 5,430, Preston Highlands is one of the best places for people looking for an urban suburban experience. They have a median rental rate of about $1,600 – slightly more affordable than other areas within the metroplex.

They also have some of the best schools in Dallas, including public and private preschools.

In terms of design, the houses in this area are some of the most beautiful that we’ve seen. However, feel free to hire an interior designer to switch things up a little for your stay.

Crime rate is slightly higher than most areas, which is why Niche – a platform that connects students and families to their ideal locations throughout the nation –  gave Preston Highland a rate of B+ for criminality and safety.

Douglass Community (Plano)

If you’re looking for an area with an even cheaper median rental price, Douglass Community in Plano is a great option.

The homes here are a lovely mix of urban and suburban designs. And they have tons of local establishments that you can visit in your free time.

In terms of schools, the ones found in Douglass Community are among the most highly rated in the metroplex. No need to worry about your kids not getting the high-quality education they need to succeed in life.

We should warn you that there aren’t as many outdoor activities to be found in this part of Dallas-Fort Worth. Due to its urban suburban design there are more buildings than there are parks in this neighborhood.

Crime is relatively low here in Douglass Community. The area also has a rich nightlife to keep you occupied during the weekend.
