From what we found about Natalie, it seems she has a solid 19 years of background wherein 50% of her practice is allotted to focusing on Divorce and Separation.

It’s also worth noting that she allotted the remaining 50% of her practice to areas such as Child Support, Child Custody, and Marriage and Prenuptials as well.

This is the good thing about hiring family lawyers like her. You’re getting somebody who’s trained to handle divorce cases, and at the same time able to adapt to the case when it also involves the couple’s children as well, for instance.

Another potentially beneficial asset that she has is her experience in Collaborative Law as well. 

Why “potentially”? Because Collaborative Law allows the divorcing couple to settle matters privately as opposed to settling it in the courtroom. 

This means it’s significantly cheaper on average compared to a typical litigated divorce.

But we know for a fact that this is not applicable to every single divorce case. 

So whether or not agreeing to a collaborative approach with Natalie is something that would benefit you would depend on your unique situation. 

One thing to be wary about though before you choose her as your lawyer, is that she has received some negative feedback as well about clients paying a lot for little work done.

This may be a completely isolated case that we just don’t have that much info about, but it’s still worth taking into consideration.

James S. Bell, with 16 years of being licensed under his belt, is another lawyer experienced in Family Law and a veteran of high-end divorces as well.

Though he doesn’t have as many years of experience as the others on our list, we think this is negligible when you consider how much he’s done over the years.

He’s all over the place (in a good way of course), being admitted to the bar in 15 different jurisdictions across the US (State of Texas, State of New York,and the US Supreme Court to name a few).

Another feat of his that we also find quite impressive is that he obtained one of the largest verdicts in US history against JPMorgan Chase Bank at $6 billion back in 2017.

Considering this and the fact that he allocates 50% of his focus to both business and divorce practice areas, you’re definitely in competent hands when you consider him as your divorce lawyer.

Not only that, he even runs his own law firm that actually operates 24/7. It’s pretty rare to come across a law firm that truly operates 24/7 while having an impressive show of expertise like this.

James acknowledges that anytime could be the best time for a divorce, which is directly in line with how we explained our “Availability” criterion. 

So if you’re the type that really values their time, James could be the perfect lawyer for you in that regard.

Now a bit of a downside is that his hourly rates could get expensive depending on your case. He’s also not always available to be retained, should you be interested in his services again.

One of the founding shareholders of cokerlegal.com, Duane L. Coker is board certified in Family Law and allocates 55% of his total practice area into Divorce and Separation matters alone. 

At 29 years and counting into his practice, we cannot accuse him of poverty of experience throughout the years at all. At least not when it comes to divorces.

With that considered, It makes sense that he made it into the Super Lawyers list for 9 straight years as well. A truly superb job over the years indeed.

It’s apparent that his expertise and commitment to serve his clients is contagious even to his co-workers within his firm. We think that’s a good sign of teamwork at hand.

But when we look into Duane’s practice areas and see Child Support and Child Custody only at  8% and 7% respectively, you wonder how they work as a team when children are involved.

This isn’t to say that Duane necessarily lacks relative experience in those areas (considering he’s been licensed for 29 years). 

Rather, working as part of a team naturally puts you with people that may excel more in different areas. We’re curious as to how he and his team complement each other on that front.

Now to the downside, his office hours. Their firm’s closed during the weekends and their Friday hours go up until lunchtime only. 

If you’re a workaholic with the usual 9 to 5 shift during weekdays, then you’re probably going to have to take a leave from work to make time. 

Not exactly ideal when you’re trying to juggle the pressures of your workload and going through a divorce.

It’s either that or you could just go to another lawyer from this list that suits your schedule more.

Patrick A. Wright, one of the senior partners of The Wright Firm LLP, is a family lawyer that often handles divorce cases and is also trained in Collaborative Law.

Together with his twin brother Paul, they possess a unique partnership when it comes to lawyers practicing in the Dallas area.

Although his brother Paul doesn’t exactly handle divorce cases as directly as him, Patrick is able to utilize a team approach including him and all the other staff in the firm. 

With this, you’re essentially hiring a whole team when you choose him or any of his other co-workers.

He is apparently tech-savvy, according to those who know him, and we’d like to think that this is an advantage in the modern practice of Law. 

Knowing your way around new innovations in the legal profession can definitely help make cases such as divorce even just a bit smoother.

Licensed for 28 years, Patrick is definitely up there when it comes to experienced lawyers in Dallas. We also noticed how he allocated his practice areas into a more “balanced” approach.

Taking a look at his practice areas, we think that divorce clients with children involved could make the most out of his expertise. 

40% of his practice is allotted to Divorce and Separation, and Child Support; while 30% is allotted to Child Custody.

Like we mentioned earlier, hiring Patrick is hiring the whole team. 

So we believe that even after your case has been settled, you’ll have pretty good access to post-divorce resources and consultations (his brother Paul actually handles post-divorce planning).

Though their firm is closed during the weekends, they are at least 24 hours open from Monday to Friday. Still better than the usual 9 to 5 if you plan on meeting Patrick personally.

We would normally recommend you to contact them with their website details first, but just bear in mind that they are sometimes slow and inefficient in responding to inquiries.

The divorce lawyer with the most reviews on our list, Brian Walters has been practicing Divorce and Separation for 27 years and is one of two key partners at Walters Gilbreath, PLLC.

He mentions that he’s handled 2498 cases throughout his career, but we’re still curious if that means he has won every single one of those. 

Nevertheless should that number be accurate, that’s still an impressive show of experience (and documenting).

What we like specifically about him, is that he is willing to share his own personal divorce experience. 

This enabled him to have a level of empathy and understanding towards his clients that you only ever get when you’ve gone through the same challenges yourself.

This set of qualities he possesses gets complemented more by his strive to fight for any of his clients in the court until everything is at ease. 

It’s an important skill to have and we definitely get what he means when he “thrives in the courtroom”.

We also think he is definitely another lawyer that oozes with leadership as it can be seen by the quality of work done by his subordinates.

Another rare thing about his firm is that they’ve decided to make their fees known to the public on their website. 

Considering that lawyers rarely publish their rates, this level of transparency demonstrated can be a good sign that Brian and his team can be worth trusting even more.

But still, there are some potential cons that could come by choosing him. While they are open 11 hours during the weekdays, we cannot say the same during the weekends.

Another one is that he’s sometimes not punctual. This could mean that he may not value his clients’ time as much as his own.
