5 Best Blinds in Dallas for a Stylish Shade Upgrade

  • Product selection and customization: We checked each company’s mix of materials, colors, and styles. The best options should suit your home without making you settle.
  • Consultation and installation: We favored companies that handle everything from measuring to final fitting. A smooth process shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth.
  • Quality and durability: We looked for blinds that can take the Dallas heat without fading, bending, or warping. Good window treatments should last longer than one brutal summer.
  • Pricing and customer support: We prioritized clear quotes, honest updates, and helpful aftercare. Companies also earned points for handling warranties, delays, and concerns without giving customers the runaround.

I’ve invested in alarm systems, cameras, and enough sensors to make my house feel like a tiny fortress. Still, none of that helps when the neighbors can see straight through the windows.

The best blinds in Dallas add privacy without making your home feel dark or boxed in. They can also help block harsh Texas heat, cut glare, and give every room a cleaner finish.

We checked out local providers offering custom fits, practical materials, and reliable installation. These are the companies worth calling when you want your windows covered and your peace of mind intact.

How much do blinds cost in Dallas?

I especially like that they bring custom samples to your space, so you can see how each option looks in real lighting. Their selection includes wood, faux wood, and motorized blinds made to fit your exact window dimensions.

Because Stoneside manages everything internally, the workmanship feels more consistent than services that rely heavily on outside contractors. It’s a polished, start-to-finish setup for anyone who’d rather avoid juggling multiple vendors.

Helped me pick out the best blinds for our home

Desiree is an amazing designer and helped me pick out the best blinds for our home. She asked the right questions and showed up prepared with a binder of fabric swatches and finishes.

After she left, I asked her to come back because I wanted to add another room to the order, and she was back here in 5 minutes!

Trent did an excellent job on the install. He was on time and professional. He walked me through the app, set up the remote, and taught me how to charge the automated blinds.

Overall, excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Precise with what blinds would work for my windows

Reba was very knowledgeable and precise with what blinds would work for my windows and door. She was very friendly and easy to work with. It was a great experience working with her and having her in my home. I can’t wait to see the finished project!

Finding custom blinds on a budget can be tricky, especially when big-brand overhead sneaks into the final price. The Blind King keeps costs down with an independently owned setup and a mobile showroom that comes to you.

My neighbor used them for her living room last month and loved how easy the process felt. Their team handled everything from the free consultation to the final installation without turning it into a home-improvement marathon.

They carry a broad range of custom products from brands like Norman Window Fashions and Horizons. You can also add motorized options that pair nicely with modern smart-home systems.

The catch is that there’s no physical showroom for casual browsing. You’ll need an appointment, and your choices are limited to the partner brands they carry.

Pros

  • Free in-home estimates
  • Convenient mobile showroom
  • Simple start-to-finish service
  • Trusted premium brands
  • Smart-home motorization

Cons

  • No physical showroom
  • Limited partner brands

I love my new blinds

I am extremely happy I chose the Blind King! During my consult, all of my questions were answered, and I was given help choosing the best blind option for my home. After my blinds were ordered, I was updated throughout the entire process, and the install was quick and efficient. I love my new blinds and cannot recommend them enough!

Did a great job

We were satisfied with our sheer blinds that were put on by the installer. Joey did a great job. Very nice, and if there’s any problem, we could always reach out to him and to their office as well. I highly recommend their service.

Calling a faceless service line can make a simple blinds project feel unnecessarily complicated. Made in the Shade keeps things personal with a family-owned team and a free mobile showroom that comes to you.

Their trained pros handle the measuring and installation, so you’re not left wrestling with a tape measure. They offer faux wood, aluminum, cordless, and motorized options for both safety and convenience.

I also like that they carry trusted brands backed by limited lifetime warranties. It adds some welcome peace of mind when you’re investing in custom window treatments.

The downside is that made-to-order blinds usually take about three weeks to arrive, so don’t expect immediate installation.

There’s also no casual walk-in browsing, since showroom visits require an appointment.

Pros

  • Free in-home consultation
  • Wide range of custom materials
  • Professional measuring and fitting
  • Strong manufacturer warranties

Cons

  • Appointment-only office visits
  • No immediate installation

Customer Reviews

They are wonderful to work with

We had the pleasure of getting to know Bill and the team at Made in the Shade Blinds & More, and they are wonderful to work with. They’re knowledgeable, professional, and truly care about their customers. It’s always great supporting fellow local businesses here in our East Dallas community.

Excellent quality of their work

David and his coworker from Made In The Shade,  a small business window blinds manufacturer in north central Dallas,  just installed custom-made thin, white, aluminum mini blinds on the upper glass panes of my backyard double Dutch doors.

I am so pleased and thrilled with the completion of my summer project by MADE IN THE SHADE and the professionalism and excellent quality of their work. The cost of this project was reasonable, and the blinds include a warranty.  I highly recommend MADE IN THE SHADE! When it comes to mini blinds, they know what they’re doing!

Dallas heat can be brutal on interiors, so flimsy blinds don’t stand much of a chance. Sunburst Shutters, Shades & Blinds Dallas makes its own American-built products, including real wood and moisture-resistant faux wood options.

I spoke with a local property manager who praised their custom fitting process and careful attention to detail.

Their free in-home consultation also makes it easier to compare finishes without guessing under showroom lighting.

Because they control production, you can customize slat sizes, lift styles, and child-safe cordless features. Their professional installers finish the job cleanly, so the blinds look built-in rather than tacked on.

The downside is that custom production usually takes four to six weeks. Some upgrades are also available only on certain blind sizes, which can narrow your choices.

Pros

  • Free expert consultation
  • Custom wood and faux wood options
  • Durable American-made products
  • Professional installation included

Cons

  • Four- to six-week turnaround
  • Size-based customization limits

Customer Reviews

Their work was top-notch

Buying shutters can be overwhelming. I shopped around with several companies, big and small. Sunburst Shutters was quick to respond, had a great consultation, the BEST price point, and professional installation. The people I worked with have at least 10 years of experience. The installation guys each had 20-25 years of experience, so their work was top-notch. Ask for Vince and Guy!!! The turnaround time was typical for blinds- 6-8 weeks.

Their service is unmatched in this business!

I highly recommend Sunburst Shutters!  Their service is unmatched in this business!  Jared, the sales rep, quickly knew what we needed, measured, made a quote, and we ordered.  Very nice guy- no hard sale.  He knew the product(s) and set expectations for delivery/ installation.  Vince, the installer, installed our order- prompt and efficient, and his years of experience with this same company were truly evident.  We had a great experience with  Sunburst Shutters.  Great value too!

Sustainable decor doesn’t have to look like it came from a recycling bin. The Shade Store handcrafts its custom blinds in the USA using responsibly sourced wood and premium alternative materials.

I like that the process feels genuinely hands-on from the start. You can order free swatches, book a design consultation, and get professional measurements before committing.

With more than 75 years of experience, they offer a huge range of exclusive finishes and tailored options.

Dedicated specialists also help keep the design process from turning into a guessing game.

The downside is that post-purchase service can be inconsistent. Some customers have reported missing parts, fraying materials, and repeat visits before everything was finally fixed.

Pros

  • Free design consultation and measuring
  • Sustainable, USA-made materials
  • Wide range of exclusive finishes
  • Free swatches before ordering

Cons

  • Parts may be missing at installation
  • Some fraying materials
  • Slow follow-up service

The blackout blinds are a game-changer!

We are very happy with our experience with The Shade Store. Starting with the free measurement, they were communicative and helpful. The installation was smooth; they even took down our old blinds. The blackout blinds are a game-changer!

The shades and blinds are great quality

After several visits to, and time with Chelsey, at The Shade Store on McKinney Ave, we decided on roller shades and blackout blinds.  Chelsey was a great help in setting up appointments that fit our odd schedules and installation dates.  What seemed overwhelming became a far more manageable experience.  The Shade Store has fantastic measurers and installers too.  Well worth a visit.  The shades and blinds are great quality, and we are extremely happy with our decision to use Chelsey and The Shade Store.
